Why are you making fun of someone's appearance with your logo change

Can I ask why you've changed the logo to be big ears to poke fun at King Charles?

I'm not a royalist but I don't think making fun of someone like this for their appearance is really fair.

Hair, body, face, skin colour or is it all up for similar

I really hope the bullying defenders on this thread have features which make them ripe for the picking.

Maybe they’re fat, maybe they talk funny, they’re certainly not pleasant people, so maybe we can all have a good laugh at those traits, after all, it’s just satire and not harmful at all, innit?

The lengths which people are going to to defend the mocking of someone’s physical features says more about them than anything else.

Would you be ok if it was your child whose physical features were being pointed out?

People are essentially thinking that because this is Charles he is fair game. If this was a thread about someone’s child nobody who is a decent human being would be agreeing that it was ok.

You hope I'm fat, ugly, unpleasant with jug ears?

My feelings are wounded 😢

The best way to get mn hq’s attention is to report the thread on mass. The more reports they get the less excuse they have for not responding.

Hi everyone - we’re sorry that the logo has upset everyone. We honestly didn’t think beforehand how it might go down as it was intended as bit of fun - but we take your point. In a world where people are being arrested for being antimonarchist, we think it’s important as a society that we can freely make fun of the rich and powerful but clearly we misjudged the mood and it was poorly executed. We've now taken it down.

It's not often I do a 180 😆
I hadn't seen the logo, I assumed it was a silouette of his face so it would be weird to change his ears.
I didn't realise it was just a pair of ears on the crown which yes is singling them out and a bit much.
But even though it's changed, mumsnet decided it was okay in the first place.
