I can’t be bothered to read the whole thread. In fact the bloody advert is blocking half of it so I can’t. Is there a resolution yet?

No resolution and no updates other than a meagre suggestion to clear the and cookies (which doesn't work) and the last update saying it's on their radar which is not really much of an update as if they hadn't noticed the giant bloody adverts I'd be recommending a trip to specsavers.

It’s driving me insane. I keep getting a prada ad. Its happening every single time now whereas before it was only now and again. Can’t actually use mumsnet with this happening

Is Mumsnet under different management or something? With the sex topic being pushed, threads directed at new mums for sex toys and advertising every 5 posts on a thread and taking up half a page…. It doesn’t feel like the site it used to be

The site is pretty unusable at the moment on a mobile. You can’t close the ad so you can’t access the top bar for web navigation. There’s also the annoyance of ads everywhere on active thread. The ads have taken over the site to the point of it being too much.

Ridiculously large ads here too. Sort it out please mumsnet, it’s making your website a massive pain

FFS this has been going on for days and it’s so irritating

It’s now happening almost every time I open a Mumsnet page.

are Mumsnet doing anything about this?

I've just advanced searched the word mercedes and found this thread. I too keep getting giant mercedes adverts blocking half the screen. Finding it very difficult to read anything or post.

I don't use mn as much these days - used to be on here constantly. Tried to use more in last few days due to covid and it's a nightmare with the adverts.

How am I supposed to interact with the site when my full page looks like that? I cam scroll past the baby David part but the mercedes bit doesn't go away. So when I am typing messages I can't see the text input box.

It’s constant. Lots of different ads.

Does no one at mnhq actually use the site? Why do you always wait until users have reported what phone and browser they are using when there's an issue and wait to start resolving it?

Surely you have a range of devices/browsers in your department that you can check reports on and see the problem for yourselves. Is no one at mnhq having the problem that the users are?

Me too! Iphone. Makes the site useless. The advert isn’t even showing properly, see this picture. So I can’t read the (unwanted) advert and I can’t quickly access the content I’m here for.

Still ongoing. I wanted to go into my account to name change and I couldn’t access it because an Ad was covering the top of my screen. It’s been going on for ages and I just thought it was a deliberate ploy to pay for Premium where I assumed there’d be no ads. Am on an IPhone and an Android (don’t ask) and they’re both equally as bad.

While I’m here I’d like to address another annoying feature. It’s the MN Ads that look like threads. I frequent certain boards where I read most threads so I always look out for ones that are still blue which means I haven’t clicked on them and read them - the ones I’ve clicked on already are purple/pink. I HATE it when I go on a board and see some unclicked-on threads and think there’s some new content and then realise it’s just a sneaky disguised MN ‘thread’ about Pampers nappies or Boden ‘must have items’.

It’s particularly galling to have these ‘chirpy’ threads interspersed on a board that’s dealing with heavy content. So, for instance, the Feminism boards - I’m reading about violence against women or menopause issues and then there’s a post saying ‘Getting Married in 2 weeks and no dress!” or ‘What exactly is combination feeding?’ I can’t believe no one else is annoyed about these. I wish they were just consigned to Chat or AIBU or boards that are appropriate rather than stripped wholesale across all or most boards!

I understand MN wanting to get people to fill out the Census and advertise that across all its boards but the other random stuff is annoying me more than having to navigate past all the huge, annoying, flashing Adverts (almost!).

Morning, everyone. Some good news - this issue should be fixed now. If anyone does still see it please let us know. It would be helpful if you can send the url of the affected page and tell us what sort of device you are using. But fingers crossed, that should be the end of it now. Thanks for your patience while we got it sorted.
