Well thats a bit weird. MN broken on IOS and android?

I can't use mn desktop site on my ipad or the mobile site on my android phone. Both lock up. On IOS the threads don't load. On the android phone I cant click on any threads or scroll up.

But its fine on my laptop.

MN please sort this out! Unable to use site on Chromebook since November. Page unresponsive every time. Was OK incognito but can't post or use full functionality & today incognito version froze once too. Can't install app. Doing this post painfully from phone which I rarely use. Why isn't this sorted yet? How is anyone meant to contact you if site constantly freezes? How many other people are locked out like me?

I had this. I can only help with iOS but I’m sure it’s the same on android too.

Go into your safari setting>advanced>Website data> search for MN and delete it’s cookies.

Reopen and go through and manually uncheck all the ‘interest’ boxes in the cookies pop up.
It’s something to do with those cookies that is broken.

I rejected all and it works fine now.

Thank you for this - have been totally unable to access the site (iPad, Safari) and downloaded the app for the first time to get information.

Mumsnet is no longer accessible on any browser on my iPad, unless I accept all cookies. I’m sure you’re breaking the rules around cookies by having it set up so that people can only access your site if they accept all. Any attempt to tailor cookie preferences (ie not accept personalised advertising, ie trackers) makes the site not operable. It just hangs, constantly reloads, and says ‘a problem repeatedly occurred on…’.

@mnhq it’s really not acceptable to railroad posters into accepting trackers - I know you make your money from advertising, but this is unethical.

I've done all the suggested fixes. Mumsnet only runs on my ipad now if I accept all cookies. That's not right, is it..?

Another one unable to use the website and really disliking the app. It's been a massive pain in the arse and all because I wanted to reject not accept. That's unethical. It's caused me stress wondering if my account had been hacked. I've been around long enough to remember that happening before. Very disappointed.

Apologies for the delayed response.

The website should be working regardless of how you set your cookie preferences. We will investigate this further and update here.

In the meantime, some people are seeing an improvement if they delete cookies and then try accessing the site again. Alternatively, you could try using a different browser to see if that helps.

Really sorry about all these issues - of course we want everyone to be able to use the site without any hassle, so we will be working to figure out what’s happening I can assure you!

It’s still just as before for me. I tried again deleting all the cookies today and then giving my privacy preferences. If I reject cookies or do anything apart from accept all I have this problem.

I was permanently signed in as premium user and now my phone says I'm not logged in and is displaying all sorts of ads and everytime I flip a page or click on something I get a cookie pop up. I did download app but find it impossible to navigate . What can I do?

Hi @334bu, we're sorry to hear you're having these problems. Can you please let us know which phone/browser you're using?

As KatyMumsnet said above, some people are seeing an improvement if they delete cookies and then try accessing the site again. You could also try using a different browser to see if that helps. It's also worth checking if you're logged in on any other devices - if you are, please log out completely from all devices and then log back in on your phone.

Please let us know if you're still seeing adverts - as a Premium member, this shouldn't be happening so please keep us posted.

Ive been having similar problems on Safari on and off for a few months. I found using DuckDuckGo eliminated them for the most part. However, I’m wondering whether there’s a wider problem with Apple products as I’ve had problems logging on to other sites as well with phone and iPad but no difficulties when using PC.

I had problems from November to a couple of days ago. I haven't done anything with my cache, cookies etc, because some people reported other problems when they cleared them. I was reduced to just reading MN via an incognito tab.

Since yesterday MN has worked perfectly for me. My account's still here though I seem to have lost records of watched threads. Whoever fixed this, many thanks.
