@Muselyforbreakfast

Not working on my ipad but it is on android phone. I tried following the advice to delete data in settings and it still isn't working
Hi, you may need to delete cookies alongside clearing cache. Can you give this a go? Also can everyone check they aren't using private browsing?

soniamumsnet · 18/11/2021 09:50

Hi - just dropping in to see if anyone is still having problems?

soniamumsnet · 19/11/2021 09:21

Thanks for the reports, and sorry that this has been causing problems.

In Safari, please can you clear via ‘manage website data’ in safari preferences: support.apple.com/en-gb/guide/safari/sfri20879/mac. If that fails it may be worth upgrading the browser.

Give us a shout if you're still having any issues.

CarolineMumsnet · 21/11/2021 11:40

Hi Brefugee Can we just check, are you trying to access the web version from a PC or Mac? Thank you for bearing with us on this. Flowers

CarolineMumsnet · 21/11/2021 11:43

Hello Beccatheboo This info and link here should walk you through the updates that look to have fixed this problem for others:

"In Safari, please can you clear via ‘manage website data’ in safari preferences: support.apple.com/en-gb/guide/safari/sfri20879/mac. If that fails it may be worth upgrading the browser."

Let us know how you get on. Flowers

Hi - just dropping in to say thanks for these reports. We're taking a look into this now.

KatyMumsnet · 23/11/2021 16:20

Hi all,

This is Katy from the tech team. Sorry to hear you're having problems with the website.

We think this is a data or cookies issue, but it’s hard to determine exactly what is happening without seeing it happen in real-time on your devices.

Our advice is to clear your cache and cookies - here are some instructions on how to do it in most cases: lexisnexis.custhelp.com/app/answers/answer_view/a_id/1080838/~/clear-cache-and-cookies-on-most-common-mobile-browsers

Once you clear your cache and cookies you will have to log back in and reset your cookie preferences.

If you’ve done this and you're still having problems then we need to investigate further, so let us know on this thread and we can get in touch with you directly.

Thanks for bearing with us while we try to get to the bottom of this!

KatyMumsnet · 24/11/2021 11:49

@SammyScrounge @MrsPnut I just sent you both a PM so we can dig in to the issues you're having

KatyMumsnet · 24/11/2021 14:40

@ElvisPresleyHadABaby the trending discussions box has been removed temporarily while we fix something but we will put it back up asap.

The pop up is due to a safari setting and it's a widespread issue when using a safari browser. I did some research and found this explanation/advice:

It is related to local database storage, the default limit is 5 MB. However many sites request more space than this (eg. 10 MB). A solution is to increase this default limit. In Safari 5 there is a setting for it called 'database storage allowed before asking' under Preferences > Security.

If you are not using safari 5 then let me know which version you have and I can have a look for how to change the setting.

KatyMumsnet · 29/12/2021 17:46

Hi,

Apologies for the delayed response.

The website should be working regardless of how you set your cookie preferences. We will investigate this further and update here.

In the meantime, some people are seeing an improvement if they delete cookies and then try accessing the site again. Alternatively, you could try using a different browser to see if that helps.

Really sorry about all these issues - of course we want everyone to be able to use the site without any hassle, so we will be working to figure out what’s happening I can assure you!

Best wishes,

Katy

KatyMumsnet · 07/01/2022 16:56

Hi all,

Sorry for the delayed response on this one.

We've investigated this and we think we have resolved the issue. If you continue to experience issues then please report back.

Thanks for your patience!

Katy

Hi @334bu, we're sorry to hear you're having these problems. Can you please let us know which phone/browser you're using?

As KatyMumsnet said above, some people are seeing an improvement if they delete cookies and then try accessing the site again. You could also try using a different browser to see if that helps. It's also worth checking if you're logged in on any other devices - if you are, please log out completely from all devices and then log back in on your phone.

Please let us know if you're still seeing adverts - as a Premium member, this shouldn't be happening so please keep us posted.
