It’s a regular browser and it happens every time I load a new page or refresh,
I’ve recorded a screen record video if you want it.

Jbck · 12/01/2021 19:38

@justinemumsnet I don’t know if this will help, I have videoed but it wont upload.

antidisestablishmentarianism · 12/01/2021 20:48

It’s still happening for me, still on an iPad with chrome

AdaColeman · 12/01/2021 21:37

This is still happening to me this evening, Tuesday 12th, Safari on iPad.

HotDiggidy2017 · 12/01/2021 22:02

Yep still happening here, based on how many other websites have a reject all button im struggling with the idea that mumsnet can’t deliver this in over 4 months of user feedback on it...

Also, happened to read the cookie duration that some of those companies are putting forward - at least one of them is over 3000 days!!!!

earthyfire · 13/01/2021 02:40

Still happening every time I click to read a new topic. Wow, 4 months of user feedback and this hasn't been rectified?

Saucery · 13/01/2021 06:28

It’s stopped for me, but I cleared all cookies yesterday evening. I suspect it’s either gmail or MN that is causing a problem with loading pages every week or so. I’ll see if the pop up reappears in a few days.

MattTech · 13/01/2021 11:25

Hi all... Matt from the Tech team here.

Thanks for bearing with us whilst we try to get to the bottom of this. I know it's incredibly frustrating to be seeing this behaviour on the site and I really do want to get to the bottom of it.

I've spent a bit of time trying to replicate the issue, both on real iOS devices that I have access to (iPhone XS, iPhone 11, iPhone 8 plus, iPhone 6S, iPad Air, iPad Pro 11") and on various Apple-supplied simulators that I can run.

I've managed to replicate it in a very specific set of circumstances on all of those devices.

If you go to your home screen, select Settings, then Safari and scroll down, there is a setting called Block all Cookies. Could you please check that that setting is turned off on your devices? I know that some of you are seeing this happen intermittently, but if you could check that setting it would really help us to eliminate something that could potentially be causing this.

I've attached a screenshot of the setting highlighted.

If you could let me know if this helps I'd really appreciate it, and hopefully we can get to the bottom of this together.

Thanks

Matt

Just to report in that the issue appears to be resolved for me. I haven't changed any settings.
Ipad, Safari

BalladOfBarryAndFreda · 13/01/2021 11:28

Still happening for me

silverstarfish · 13/01/2021 12:13

My block all cookies setting is off.

MattTech · 13/01/2021 12:40

@silverstarfish

My block all cookies setting is off.
@silverstarfish Thanks for checking that for me. Could you possibly look at what model of device and what software version you're using for me please?

You can find this information by going to Settings, then General and then About. There are two pieces of information that would be really useful to know if possible, please:

  • Software Version
  • Model Name

I've attached another screenshot with those highlighted.

We're actively working on this and I want to give you my assurance that we're doing everything possible to get this particular problem resolved as quickly as we can. Smile

Block all cookies is off.

I’m on an iPhone.

Still happening. Confused

Halsall · 13/01/2021 14:08

My block cookies setting is also off on my iPad mini.

MattTech · 13/01/2021 15:41

Thanks for bearing with us again whilst we debug this issue. It's really appreciated. Smile

We've just made another small change to the code that controls this popup. We're not expecting this to fix the issue entirely, but it may help in some circumstances.

We're still actively looking at this to get the issue resolved for everyone.

We're still not seeing it happen in the same way that is being reported so it's a tricky one to get to the bottom of, but I can assure you that it's taking priority over here and that I'll keep you updated as we work through this. Smile

Thanks again for your patience.

Did the ‘block all cookies’ things and it got rid of all my open tabs and logged me out of everything Angry

He said to switch that function off in your settings - not switch it on!

I did that too Why can’t I read things properly!!
SunshineCake · 13/01/2021 17:24

I went off to read a magazine on my Readly app and then had to do the choices again. Hmm.

Squiffany · 13/01/2021 18:12

Still coming up. Still using Safari on an iPad.

JustAmotherOne · 13/01/2021 19:38

I’m on safari on iPad.

Cookie blocker definitely not turned on.

The permission pop up is driving me crazy.

iOS 14.3 on iPad Air 4th gen.

BringMeTea · 13/01/2021 21:46

14.3
ipad Air 2

Block all cookies is off. Still seeing 'the cookie message'.

antidisestablishmentarianism · 13/01/2021 22:04

Still happening, worse than before. Still ipad with chrome

silverstarfish · 13/01/2021 22:13

I’m using older software
Software version 12.1.1
Model MM192B/A iPad Pro

But reading the responses above it seems that’s not the issue (all other sites are fine with it, anyway).

I’ve just tried deleting the mumsnet cookie and starting afresh after reading a response above. Logged back in and it’s exactly the same - I tested it by clicking thread links from the daily email as that brings the cookie settings box up with every click.
