Suggestions for further Mumsnet Premium offers

We've launched Mumsnet Premium Deals today and have a number of great offers for Premium members including 10% off Bugaboo.com, £100 off Octopus energy when you switch, 3 months free superfast broadband with Zen, £80 John Lewis voucher when you sign up to Admiral insurance and up to £100 off holidays with Holidays Please.

We'd love to hear from current Premium subscribers what further offers you'd like us to go after as well as from anyone who hasn't subscribed but might be persuaded to with the right offer. That's interesting seenbeensbean, I have none of that and I am not signed up for premium.

I’m on a browser called DuckDuckGo that was recommended by a MNer last week. They block google and amazon etc from following you around websites and I also don’t seem to have any ads! Win win. And I don’t have to pay them a penny.

Most of the things that are being suggested on premium are standard on pretty much all other dicscussion forums- editing, starting at point last viewed, quoting, polls, liking posts, coloured and italic text, following a poster, ignoring a poster or a thread etc etc etc
MSE is fantastic for best offers too, so it would need to be a pretty big incentive on the offer side for me to want premium here.

I don’t live in UK so none of this would appeal to me.

None of the current offers are appealing to me, either because I'm not shopping for those items, or because the % discount isn't very exciting.

I would sign up if I could get something I couldn't get elsewhere, but I'm not sure what that would be. I come to mumsnet for the content, which should be free as it's generally created by us, the user. I would look on mse or quidco if I wanted a financial good offer.

Also I would only pay when the premium offering has been established. Coming soon/in the next few months is too vague to be meaningful.

I've installed ad block on my phone so I can't see any adverts on the app anyway.

Premium seems like one massive scam at the moment. People who have paid for a whole year may get no changes or updates at all yet they've still given MN £50.

How convenient

I pay for premium because I want to support the site and because MN has been here for me when I needed it so, y’know, quid pro quo. I love MN.

Those offers sound like quite bland un-enticing cross-selling tbh. Really unlikely to tempt me.

I would happily include affiliate links for MN in my own posts when linking to a dress or make up or whatever. No idea how to do that.

@Veronicat, I've subscribed in the spirit of giving something back. I am by no means well-off with plenty left at the end of the month.

I find it sad that so many posters are casually throwing around the idea of redundancies, while complaining about a wealth divide.

Do the words you write in the notebook male money for the makers of the book? Do the makers of the book now own your words, can they sell them to the highest bidder? Do they make money from advertising next to your words?

Thats what we are talking about, every word I write on this sub, draws in other people who write more etc and mn sell advertising based on all these people.

I have not seen anything that is worth paying for, that is not available elsewhere.

Those discounts are all available elsewhere on the Internet.

I just purchased Disney Plus for almost the same price and the value for money vs Mumsnet is incomparable.

If you need money to keep running then I would just say that. Many long term members are willing to donate. But dressing up a 'Premium' service as value for money when it's clearly not is insulting.

Mumsnet Premium would need some seriously good features to be considered value for money, given that the members provide the content.

But you'll probably find the novelty Disney+ will wear off by October. A fair amount of people are now cancelling after a couple of month. Qhere as, presumably you've used/will use MN for some years

Sorry for the delay, @ElizabethMainwaring - we've removed this post now and replied to your report. Thanks for helping Maggi20 to start a new thread of her own.

Can't believe I'm defending Disney+ on the internet of all things, but there are thousands of hours of stuff on there. My kids have only scratched the surface. Most of it isn't available for free anywhere else.

The internet however is full of free talk sites. MN might be your favourite one, but it's one among many.
