JustineMumsnet · 18/06/2020 09:15

We've launched Mumsnet Premium Deals today and have a number of great offers for Premium members including 10% off Bugaboo.com, £100 off Octopus energy when you switch, 3 months free superfast broadband with Zen, £80 John Lewis voucher when you sign up to Admiral insurance and up to £100 off holidays with Holidays Please.

We'd love to hear from current Premium subscribers what further offers you'd like us to go after as well as from anyone who hasn't subscribed but might be persuaded to with the right offer. Please post your thoughts here and we'll do our damnedest to get the most popular partners on board with great offers. Big thanks.

Honestly, none of those offers appeal to me. Sorry MN.

Free gin and chocolate might do though.

What about a monthly raffle? Love a raffle.

I think more things that are aimed at the actual MNetter, and not them as mum or family household manager! I agree with @WhatWouldDominicDo - stuff for me, like gin (not so bothered with chocolate, but know others might be!). Good books or DVDs, or subscriptions to streaming services, or magazines.

Filter by user would incentivise me, people often respond to someone instead of quoting, and then you can never find the post they are referring to.

Filter by op will be great for everyone.

Chats with celebs or folks of interest is also a very good idea.

Or you could do something fun, like “ be a guest moderator for a day”. Say once a month someone wins. Obviously with no lasting power Ie you can’t actually ban folks. But more to see what goes on behind the scenes. That could be amusing for everyone, particularly in terms of the deletion messages the winner posted.

The power to ban people (just for a day!) would be fantastic Grin

I'm not bothered by offers and discounts but I like the idea of premium only competitions and experiences.
Maybe a behind the scenes day at MN Towers?

Free Mumsnet mug for every subscriber? Grin (actually seriously, would love one)

I agree on aiming perks at the mumsnetter rather than at the family or "mum". If I'm paying for a subscription for myself, I want benefits that I'd enjoy for myself. Home insurance is not a treat for me, neither is money off my utilities, and I have no need for pushchairs nowadays.

Offer some premium exclusive competitions and product tests, maybe even throw in some sort of one-off subscription swag. I have a magazine subscription that costs me roughly £5 a month and with that I got a fairly decent gift at the start of the subscription and I get one again once per year when I renew it - the gift changes so I'd guess its provided by whoever is sponsoring them at the time the subscription is taken out? Audible gives me a free audiobooks each month alongside whatever audiobooks I've paid for. Chewigem gives me one free credit each month to spend in their shop, 1 item = 1 credit.

Remove all of the adverts. If I'm paying for a subscription, I don't want to see a single one. Removing some or most isn't enough.

I'd want tech features that make the cost worth it, not just the quote function but an extra level of filters such as the filter by OP option mentioned, better/more emotes, the option of choosing which username to start a thread as without having to go into my account to change usernames, if I use a name change on a thread then for whatever reason then for that thread to "remember" which username I posted with and to default to that username on that thread to prevent any name change fails (would stop people sockpuppetting too).

Yes, site features appeal to me too. I've signed up just to help MN out a bit because it's been a lifeline for years and has introduced me to many amazing women that I'm now friends with in real life.

I'm not a big one for spending on clothes, or a fan of switching suppliers/insurers etc. Something like a monthly draw for premium subscribers for an Amazon voucher or similar would be useful though- even £25 would get your kindle nicely stocked up!

@BankofNook
You dont need to keep going into your account to change names.
Just tap in the other user name you use in the name bar on your post.

@Charliec12

I am 6 months pregnant and used to be quite good friends with my male manager but since telling him I am pregnant he has distanced himself from me and taken the personal friendship out of our working relationship. I feel isolated enough seperated from all of my work colleagues as I am working from home. Has anyone else experienced this type of sudden change in a manager since telling them you are pregnant?

Not quite sure why you've posted on this thread! You need to go to the Relationships board and start one there. Good luck.

That works for posting on an existing thread but when starting a thread there's no option to type a username into the name bar and the thread has to be started using whatever your name is at that time. There used to be a name bar there when starting a thread so you could choose a username to post it with but it disappeared aged ago.

Hi. I've asked for your post to be moved to somewhere more appropriate.

These features would make the site experience immeasurably better for all posters. I'd be annoyed if they (or indeed any site improvements) were only available to paying subscribers.

So I suppose I'm thinking Premium benefits should be non-site based. Free gifts, whatever.

I wouldn't sign up to premium to get 'bonuses' which mean that I will need to change my broadband, energy company, insurance, etc.

all of those offers or similar can be found using Google, and you dont have to pay for that?

including 10% off Bugaboo.com, £100 off Octopus energy when you switch, 3 months free superfast broadband with Zen, £80 John Lewis voucher when you sign up to Admiral insurance and up to £100 off holidays with Holidays Please.

Here's the Octopus one, its £50 off, by using a referral link - ( I know your one is £100, but in reality so is this one, just split by 2 households)
How does it work? Use my Octopus referral code by following the link when you switch to Octopus Energy. After you pay your first bill £50 will be credited to your octopus energy account.

Once you have chosen to switch to Octopus Energy as a new customer, you ’ll be given £50 credit on your first bill and your own personal referral code to share with friends and families. For every person that switches with your code, you both get £50 credited towards your next bill. It takes just two minutes to switch and your code is effective immediately. (I would be delighted if you use mine to get you started, thank you!)

actually what would be GREAT for all of us (subscribers or not) is a poster name lock - make it impossible to change a name on a thread.

I change my name every month or so, and i have an 'outing' name, and weight loss boards name, various reasons. It wont stop people signing in and out, but would deter the casual sock puppet

It doesn't sit right with me that you want people to pay (Premium) to get features that are really quite basic (filtering, decent quoting, hide poster etc) that should have been available years ago. Maybe have some offers or experiences or something else for Premium members but basic features should be free and available to all.

So I was used to test the filter function. It was decent, certainly not something I'd pay for. It was then taken away when the beta expired and now you want me to pay for it? No thanks.

Many moons ago there used to be lots of fab offers and free trials and such on mumsnet. I went through a stage of being really lucky in getting picked and got a years free sky (all channels and features) and a cordless animal dyson vacuum cleaner (got to keep it after uploading reviews etc) amongst other things.

Do things like that still go on mumsnet? I must look more carefully.
