I mean I know its a parenting site but the children cant hear can they? Or is it tolerated on some parts of the site and not others? Or on some threads and not others? iykwim

Have only skimmed thru this thread. Just a small point: older kids can read and might well be reading threads over mum's shoulder (mine do!) so I appreciate it when people use either abbreviations (ffs, etc) or asterisks. This might sound prudish but I have never sworn in front of my kids and none of their grandparents swear and I like it that way - I hate to hear expletives coming from the mouths of little children. Actually, excessive use of expletives is annoying coming from anyone's mouth - it's just unimaginative and lazy and can be offensive.
