Keep getting directed to dodgy sites

Hi, three times today I’ve clicked on a thread and it’s opened another window, to a dodgy site. The last one was a “100th person to click wins an iPad” type of thing. I’m on an iPad with iOS 11.2. Any ideas?

I keep trying to post here, keep getting a pop up Cheltenham Prize. Earlier I couldn’t even post as the page kept jumping around. It came up again just now.

Sorry to hear this is back. We're going to see what's causing this.

However it'd be really helpful if we could have the following information from you.

  1. Device and Platform: iPhone/Android etc and Safari/Chrome/FireFox etc
  2. Redirect Location: Which page where you on when you got the popup?
  3. Redirection Destination: What was the URL that the popup took you to?
  4. Approx Location: You might want to namechange for this one.

Apologies, using safari on my iPhone, your normal mobile website not the app.
I was on the active threads page when the pop up last came up. To be honest it hasn’t come up for a few hours so hopefully it’s fixed 🤞🏻

Just happened to me. On IPad, using Safari. Got the “Virgin Media” pop-up. I was in the Parenting topic. I’m in NW England.

  3. Not sure of the exact URL but it was something like free-gifts
It took over the screen - I don't believe I clicked on anything, and it wasn't as soon as the page loaded but after I had been reading it for a bit. It redirected my browser something like 7 times.
  1. New Zealand - and it identified my ISP.

I’m getting the gifts for you one too on Safari on iPad. My TalkTalk security blocked this morning’s (but not the others) as suspected of containing a virus.

This needs sorting.
