I've just logged into someone else's account, using my own details?

I have no idea how this happened?

I logged in using my usual email address and password, went to TIO and realised I hadn't been on any of the threads in question and the account settings were completely different

Then I realised it was someone else's account? Needless to say I logged straight out. I entered the same details again and now I'm back as me.

For the record, I'm not a name changer and have never heard of the person who I logged in as (see attached pic).

I've not been logged out yet, safari, ipad.
I'm astonished that the site wasn't locked down after multiple reports came in.

How long for log out? I'm using Samsung internet browser on my phone.

When are you sending out an email to tell users about the breach?

Well that's worrying, especially since someone upthread said when they were logged in as another user they had access to their email address...

@Lilymumsnet @Soniamumsnet If you don't have anyone on your staff who is experienced at dealing with data breaches yet, I'd call the ICO helpline now, or a data specialist. If this is true, you've likely just made the situation worse, rather than better, and you're getting close to the end of your "grace period".

You really may well be better to take down the forums for a few hours than to get fined 4% of your annual global turnover.

I have logged myself out and back in now. No password required, just my email.

I was just able to log in with just my email address too.

I just got forced logged out - fortunately I did need to put in my MN password when I logged back in.

I just got logged out on phone browser. I did need my password to get back in but I felt nervous about the security.

Ok, I just tried to reply, and at that point only, it asked me to log in (although I was already logged in according to the top box). I did need my password.
