I've just logged into someone else's account, using my own details?

I have no idea how this happened?

I logged in using my usual email address and password, went to TIO and realised I hadn't been on any of the threads in question and the account settings were completely different Confused

Then I realised it was someone else's account? Needless to say I logged straight out. I entered the same details again and now I'm back as me.

For the record, I'm not a name changer and have never heard of the person who I logged in as (see attached pic).

I've just logged into someone else's account, using my own details?

Hi everyone, We put a new service live late on Tuesday and we believe this might be the cause of the problem. We're going to reverse that change now and hopefully that will sort it. Will keep you posted. I'm very sorry about this.

Ok we've made that change now and hopefully that will sort the problem. Obviously please let us know if not. If this was the cause, we clearly need to do some investigation here into our testing regime and of course will report this to the Information Commissioner. Thank you to all who flagged it and apologies again for any inconvenience. I'll keep you posted.

How do we know? MN clearly doesn’t. St the moment I can only appear to log in as me. But I thought the same before my Brew this morning.

We can't know for 100% that this was the cause of the problem but it is a very likely explanation.

Why was login not suspended for the duration and why have you not forcibly logged everyone out when reversing the change? Ideally you should enforce a password cahnge as well in this situation.

We have forced logged everyone out. And it's a fair question about suspending login late last night. It wasn't clear at the time that the problem was widespread but I agree that's no excuse.

The log out is working it's way through - it takes a little while. The app isn't affected so you won't be logged out if you use that.

I just got logged out for no reason! That's never happened. I'm surprised i remembered the password. So.ething strange going on today!

This was a forced log out from our tech team but if anyone has trouble accessing their accounts, please do mail us for a password reset.

Hi SBFC, No passwords would have been able to have been accessed because they are all encrypted. So there's no need to reset passwords.

I’m just trying to catch up with this thread, I was logged out as well whilst moving between pages, couldn’t remember my password so asked for reset email, which I received & then set new password. Does this mean that my account was breached or was it a technical glitch, can anyone clarify please.

The logout was done by our tech team and was not part of the glitch. Flowers

I'm also unable to log in on Chrome. I've reset my password, but still doesn't work. I've had to download the app especially (and I don't like it!)

As DerelictWreck said, this is a common scam/spam email that does the rounds. You can read up about how it works online. We'd recommend changing the password on the email account that it arrived in. Flowers
