Anyone else get this? If I'm browsing the site on my phone if I've come back to my browser from using another app the thread will be all fuzzy and have random black blocks all through it before I refresh.

Simple fix but still annoying. :s

TallulahBetty
Can you send me a screenshot please of what you see and what page were you on?
What phone and browser are you using?

DeadBod · 31/10/2018 14:33

No black boxes since the 29th.

sluj · 01/11/2018 19:28

Just happened again to me. The boxes actually flickered for a couple of seconds then went black. Duplicated posts too. Android Samsung s8

AGHHHH · 02/11/2018 23:29

@angiemumsnet here's what it's doing today for me. Slightly different

CurbsideProphet · 04/11/2018 11:15

It's still happening to me. I'm also getting continual Mumsnet popups asking me to accept the cookies terms and conditions Confused

blackriver · 04/11/2018 13:40

This only happens on mumsnet, I've not had it on any other website.
It always starts from the block ad at the top, included in the picture, and then spreads down the page, this is clearly a mumsnet issue with how some of the ads interact with the page

Still... Christ.

It's happening less, but it's happening. 3 times in the past 24 hours.

I've just had white boxes

Cuttingthegrass · 05/11/2018 07:03

My phone doesn’t show ads so works fine. I can’t use the iPad as it just freezes constantly

NewModelArmyMayhem18 · 05/11/2018 07:13

I was just coming on to say that Mumsnet freezes and takes ages to load on my iPad (in a way that doesn't happen with any other sites). Beyond crapola really.

Aventurine · 05/11/2018 10:30

When i open a page i get a white block at the top which then goes. I also get a block at the top which flickers really fast like strobe lighting then turns black, then after a while changes to an ad. Definitely a mumsnet ad problem. I don't get it on any other site. Samsung chrome. Will screenshot when i next get it

Ok, so twice today I've had a box at the top that flickers very fast and then turns black for a while. Both times I've clicked on the black box and it's been an advert for O2. So I'll see if i can block 02 next time.

Lougle · 07/11/2018 20:39

I've had big white boxes twice, also.

CurbsideProphet · 11/11/2018 08:29

@Killybashangel I'm also having the same problem with the flickering O2 advert causing the screen to go blank. I'm quite fed up that we aren't being told what is being done to resolve the problem.

Killybashangel · 11/11/2018 09:15

I tried to block the O2 ad but i can only get to it by clicking on the black box which opens the ad and then i can't see a way to block it

DeadBod · 11/11/2018 16:12

I've had a couple of white and black boxes today. I'll report my post so that MN are aware.

AGHHHH · 11/11/2018 16:50

Thanks for the reports. We're still trying to track down what could be causing the black box infestation.

We've got something to try - which should help to narrow things down:

If you put your phone into safe mode, and the boxes stop appearing - then that will get us a lot nearer to finding out what's causing the problem. Please let us know if the black boxes are still there when you look at the site when the phone is in safe mode.

Here are some instructions for putting a Samsung Galaxy S5 into safe mode

And here are some general Android phone instructions

Hopefully one of you with the issue will try this and let us know - it really will be a big help in diagnosing the problem.

Thanks in advance.
