Can we start a ‘medics corner’ to the list of topics?

Thought it would be useful to have this....think there is something similar for teachers on here

Potential topics could be employment issues, people looking for opinions/advice on junior doctor issues, bullying, flexible working, work/life balance as a medic and a parent ....the list is endless!

I'd like it.

I'd like it to be called 'HCP corner' - hopefully would stop anyone wandering in and requesting advice.

MrsJoshDun · 02/04/2018 17:00

The Mess makes me think of RAF.

cupoflemontea · 02/04/2018 17:01

Yes 'the mess' means army to me.

MrsJoshDun · 02/04/2018 17:01

People don’t post questions in the staff room about their kids, they manage to get it in the education/primary/secondary topics.

Iloveteaandcake · 02/04/2018 17:07

I like HCP corner too....that can be taken to include pharmacists too

I think putting it in health section would make it more likely attract threads looking for advice so ‘Other Stuff’ section would work better

Or under work? Employment issues?

Swallowedbyasnake · 02/04/2018 17:11

Sounds good

Lentilbaby · 02/04/2018 17:34

🙋🏻‍♀️ It's a yes from me!

TheSecondOfHerName · 02/04/2018 17:57

HCP corner is a good title.

ZivaDiva · 02/04/2018 18:04

Please can it include paramedics? We sometimes feel a bit forgotten, or called ambulance drivers Grin

Mrsfloss · 02/04/2018 18:06

Interested

fitbitbore · 02/04/2018 18:09

Sounds good!

impostersyndrome · 02/04/2018 18:11

Put it in Work, as that’s where Academics corner is; though we still get the odd query about education, it’s rare.

cupoflemontea · 02/04/2018 18:12

I think 'HCPs' know that they'd be understood in that corner. So I'd expect to see HCAs, pharmacists, nurse, physio, GP etc. Front line clinical staff.

It'd sort of be implicit wouldn't it? If you understand the club, it's because you're a member of the club!

MrsJoshDun · 02/04/2018 18:17

I like HCP corner.

alltopot · 02/04/2018 18:21

Would you also allow us nhs and gp admin folk? You know - the horrible, obstructive "gatekeepers" 🙄

YassQueen · 02/04/2018 18:25

I'd love it to include other NHS staff (I'm classed as "frontline" but not a registered HCP and not admin either, that weird grey area Grin ) but if it would be preferred to just be registered HCPs that's understandable.

Toddlerteaplease · 02/04/2018 18:28

I'm a nurse. Great idea. But no medical advice!

TooStressyForMyOwnGood · 02/04/2018 18:31

Great idea Smile.

Iloveteaandcake · 02/04/2018 18:39

Think putting it under Work is a good idea

OP posts:
BertieBotts · 02/04/2018 18:44

Make it auto hide/opt-in, like the SN boards. Otherwise folk will come on and ask for advice. And maybe have a policy to delete any threads asking for medical advice.

cupoflemontea · 02/04/2018 18:46

Or just make it policy to move threads asking for advice?

CircleSquareCircleSquare · 02/04/2018 18:46

Hand up!

Iloveteaandcake · 02/04/2018 20:57

I reckon if it’s put under ‘ work’ and called HCP corner, it should be fairly self explanatory that it’s not a forum for health advice.

There are tonnes of these as publix and non public fora already
