Can we start a ‘medics corner’ to the list of topics?

Thought it would be useful to have this....think there is something similar for teachers on here

Potential topics could be employment issues, people looking for opinions/advice on junior doctor issues, bullying, flexible working, work/life balance as a medic and a parent ....the list is endless!

Thanks for the idea Iloveteaandcake

Let us know who else is keen for this topic.

wizzywig · 02/04/2018 14:48

Can it include how shitty it can be married to a doctor?

SpuriouserAndSpuriouser · 02/04/2018 14:50

That's a fab idea, I would also be interested.

MrsJoshDun · 02/04/2018 14:52

I’d be interested.

TheSecondOfHerName · 02/04/2018 14:53

How would you prevent it from getting filled up with a load of threads asking for advice?

Iloveteaandcake · 02/04/2018 15:24

Yes, it could be a potential problem if people come on asking for advice and had occurred to me aswell.... I guess we could redirect them to the ‘health’ section if they want to speak to others about their problem, or redirect to GP. What do MNHQ think about this issue? Could there be talk guidelines to prevent this?

Wizzywig, lol
It certainly can include that. Plenty of people (medics and non medics) in same situation

GirlsonFilm · 02/04/2018 15:26

I'd be interested, so much going on in the NHS that it would be nice to discuss/vent about.

Zeitgei5t · 02/04/2018 15:30

I'd be interested

DownInFraggleRock · 02/04/2018 15:50

Also interested!

WheelyCote · 02/04/2018 15:54

I'd be interested too

blaaake · 02/04/2018 15:57

Great idea.

Iloveteaandcake · 02/04/2018 16:06

Girlsonfilm- my thoughts exactly. Let’s add venting about the latest medic/healthcare bashing article in daily mail to that list aswell!

AnnaMagnani · 02/04/2018 16:10

I would be interested.

GeminiWarrior · 02/04/2018 16:12

Interested

iklboo · 02/04/2018 16:13

I love how the Daily Fail calls everyone even remotely associated with health care provision a 'medic'. The vast majority of its readers then think it's a 'bungle' (another DM favourite word) by a doctor.

Reallycantbebothered · 02/04/2018 16:15

Interested...could this include nurses?

Bythebeach · 02/04/2018 16:16

Interested

Sparklefloof · 02/04/2018 16:22

Interested! Could pharmacists be included also? There is a lot of change and scrutiny occurring atm!

Cynara · 02/04/2018 16:27

Interested! Great idea OP, thanks.

Iloveteaandcake · 02/04/2018 16:35

Good idea to include nurses, pharmacist etc. So many things that affect us all working in healthcare. Could call it HCPs and allied professionals corner? Not sure if that’s too wordy....but something along those lines

RebelRogue · 02/04/2018 16:36

Maybe you could have a Staff room section under Health? Like there is in education?

Twodogsandahooch · 02/04/2018 16:39

Could call it ‘the mess’.

BoreOfWhabylon · 02/04/2018 16:48

The Thin Red Line

SpuriouserAndSpuriouser · 02/04/2018 16:50

Could call it ‘the mess’.

That's a good idea! Also if medic/doctor isn't in the title people might be less likely to post looking for medical advice.
