Got to go, can't come on here to be abused.

All the "old girls" hardly post anymore, bk, tm, m, mi, d, sm, etc etc, its mostly a bunch of tedious up their own bullies.

Go on and reconile the tow, Orville. Just do it!

Psycho · 11/04/2007 17:51

We could have historic handshake pictures.

or if they couldn't face that, just sat at the same table with Cod in the middle.

It'll never happen in my lifetime.

OrvilleRedenbacher · 11/04/2007 18:04

oh yes

hunker cna be ian paisley! arf

Psycho · 11/04/2007 18:13

I thought Hunker was Ian Paisley.

Or at least how IP would sound if passionate about weaning.

'NEVER, NEVER, NEVER wean before 6 months.'

Not helpful. Sorry.

Do not have me working behind the scene on the peace process Cod.

3andnomore · 11/04/2007 18:27

lol...so, it's just an mn thing then, to blame it all on the newbies...phew...relieved here...alhtough, seeing as I have been here over 1/2 year, I really don't consider myself a newbie, but clearly I am, of course, lol!

tigermoth · 11/04/2007 18:32

I'll miss Cam and hope she'll be back.

I don't know:
What finally pushed Cam to leave
What built up on different theads
What weaning has to do with it (if anything)
OR
Why there is such heated debate over spoons - spoons!!!! I skimmed one thread a while ago and never realised spoonfeeding was such an issue. I can never now look at a spoon in the same way again. I have a feeling that hunker has strong weaning views, don't know what they are - so you can see how out of touch I am with weaning.

I do know:
I have two sons and they are so past weaning age that I have forgotten pretty much when and how I weaned them.
I stay off weaning threads as they mean nothing to me. But I know and respect that they mean a lot to other people.

But hey, I am still a mother and I still get lots out of mumsnet.

I post when I have time. I have less time than I used to. That's the reason I am not here as much. Me being one of the 'old girls' mentioned in the OP, I wanted to get that straight.

It would make me sad to think that someone with individual views could not risk a reasoned, polite posting of them on a thread. It seems there is more to Cam's leaving than this, but if there is an element the above, I am very sad.

As others say, Cam has been here a long while, has seen plenty of heated threads and knows how mumsnet works. If a thread drove her to leave then it leaves a question in my mind as to what went on.

VeniVidiVickiQV · 11/04/2007 19:26

The thread is there for all to see - the one that wound her up. The other thread, where she followed me just to snipe and be nasty has been deleted. So, you'll have to take our word for it that CAM was OTT. It was v worrying, and tbh, made me wonder if things in RL are not pretty bad for her right now.

Custy, you are fab, and your last post is very sensible. I would also say that I ALWAYS without fail apologise where and when I need to - either on or off board if I have gone overboard. All I would say to you is - remember how you felt every time Sandydut posted after you, with a snipe aimed at you, you know, just for the hell of it.

foxinsocks · 11/04/2007 19:35

that's true vv - I had wondered recently if everything was ok with her as there were a few posts she had made that were so out of character, I thought it had to be a different poster.

I don't know about all this other stuff so won't comment on it .

custy · 11/04/2007 22:19

vvq i think the stalker saga isn't comparable. howver i had an almighty ding dong with a poster about 4 years ago, i have no idea in the slightest what it was about, i remember being very upset it was very much all out war - like this. lots of mumsnet got involved and i felt like no-one liked me and it was very upsetting. i think i flounced , i certainly got so upset i cried!

that mumsnetter changed her name and doesn't post very often these days ( unrelated) she has had the shittiest of times recently and i am completely embarrassed at the way i behaved all that time ago.

who was at fault? i have no idea - not the point. i can't even remember the subject matter. i have no ill feeling, in fact i recently asked after her and i sincerely hope she is ok as mumsnet hasn't heard from her for ages.

so in conclusion! i know the feeling, but still - i know my part in creating it and take responsibility for my part in that saga and being cow extroidinaire.

tigermoth · 12/04/2007 09:52

Just read bits of the other thread - scary stuff. VVQ I know that doesn't give the full picture (as CAM'S thread was deleted) but assume CAM started the second thread (partly) in reaction to the first thread.

Hope apologies have been said.

Marina · 12/04/2007 10:03

Oi tigs how's the door handle progressing?

AitchTwoOh · 12/04/2007 10:37

tigermoth, no, CAM didn't start the thread. it was another weaning one started by someone else which had got all good-natured and joshy as i recall. vvv and a few others had 'escaped' to it from hunker's one and were followed by CAM. and then it all got very messy.
i'm only writing this because your speculation is innaccurate, not because of any abiding determination to keep this going. most of the speculation has been rather wonky, in fact, but of course it is, because the thread has been deleted. which was, i think, a heavy-handed and poor decision by MNHQ.

tigermoth · 12/04/2007 14:22

fair enough about my speculation being a bit wonky - of course I wasn't there at the time and hindsight is a wonderful thing.

My sentiments remain the same about apoligies all round.

AitchTwoOh · 12/04/2007 14:25

fair play.
