Got to go, can't come on here to be abused.

All the "old girls" hardly post anymore, bk, tm, m, mi, d, sm, etc etc, its mostly a bunch of tedious up their own bullies.

OP posts:
colditz · 09/04/2007 13:25

Please can someone other than Zookeeper point out where I am being a bully?

Sorry SW, no I think the "Fuck off" reaction is certainly more normal than icy politeness, certainly while being chased by a dog, but maybe not while being questioned on an internet forum.

And I think the assumption that Icy politeness = bullying and patronising is a bit strange.

stoppinattwo · 09/04/2007 13:33

dont say i didnt warn you

VeniVidiVickiQV · 09/04/2007 13:37

It is possible to feel passionately about something and still remain polite, IMO. I have occasionally let slip the odd "piss off" , but, have always apologised after because it is unecessary.

Remaining polite whilst getting heated in debate is really NOT patronising. Not in my book, anyway.

I really cant help it if other people read that wrongly though.

Following someone onto a thread and calling them "attention seeking" isnt particularly polite IMO.

stoppinattwo · 09/04/2007 13:38

VVVQ.............i cant believe "the queen " swears...............one is truley shocked

VeniVidiVickiQV · 09/04/2007 13:42

Oh I say "cunt" all the time, but I dont usually direct it at someone lol

bosscat · 09/04/2007 13:51

10.52 by mamazon to zookeeper "at the end of the day you are a low rate poster with a bee in her bonnet"

wtf ? I can't believe she hasn't been slated for that comment which just goes to show you that if you are addressing the nasty comments to the unpopular person in the thread you get away with it. But attack someone in the group and watch the fireworks.

mamazon you should apologise for that, how dare you grade people in that way, totally against the MN philosophy.

hi bosscat

Chickbabymummy · 09/04/2007 15:05

Hmmm, still alive here then? I've just been to B&Q, not as busy as I would expect for a bank holiday.
Anyhoo, I see that the arguing still hasn't finished, which I'm rather disappointed about.
The fact is I'm utterly confused why people who are supposedly adults, who have kids, maybe jobs as well, people who make valuable contributions to society and have their family, friends and other RL occupations to validate them, feel the need to act like a bunch of spiteful schoolgirls. I'm sure you don't act this way in real life so why should you do so here? I see lots of you here have apologised for perceived and actual insults, why can't you just put it behind you and move on. If you don't like what is being posted on particular thread, then ignore it - no-one will force you to read it - and you have to face facts that some people have their minds made up on certain issues regardless whether they are right or wrong, and regardless of other people's opinions. For a lot of the debates, there simply isn't a clear cut right or wrong solution - it all comes down to personal choice and circumstances, and the fact that we are all (as well as our babies) are individual, each one of us precious and unique. Everyone is very much entitled to their own opinion and should be unafraid to express it as long as it is done in a respectful and polite manner.
Gosh that was a long post - well done if you made it to the end

DeviousDaffodil · 09/04/2007 15:10

Well said Chick.

LittleEasterLapin · 09/04/2007 15:55

Booooooorrrrrrrrrrrrrrinnng.... come and look at my scrumptious son!

mamazon · 10/04/2007 00:21

Your right. "low rate" is not what i meant but i couldn't be arsed trying to be nice to someone who was slagging off everythong that moved.

I was merely trying to point out that ZK has kicked up a huge fuss agaisnt two posters who are well known and popular, who do not cause agro on every thread and who...should they flounce i am certain would leave a far bigger hole than ZK should she do the same.

so no low rate poster was not the most appropriate of remarks but i had tried being polite and had been abused for it.
