What happened ,did it get deleted? No deletion message that I can see.

Twistmeandturnme · 08/09/2017 14:57

Taken down at request of OP. Disappointed, I wanted that recipe but didn't copy it down.

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 08/09/2017 15:00

Seriously? Shall I give it to you? I love it and make it all the time. Perfectly normal food in this house.

If you're being sarky then you can sod off Wink

TheColonelAdoresPuffins · 08/09/2017 15:05

Yes please I'd be interested to see the recipe

halfsixpence · 08/09/2017 15:08

I don't know what thread but I came on this one hoping for a better bean recipe. I love them.

NomDePlumeReloaded · 08/09/2017 15:08

A controversial thread about BUTTER BEANS ?!

Ducking hell.

Twistmeandturnme · 08/09/2017 15:10

NOT BEING SARKY: would love recipe: please PM me so when this TAAT disappears I won't need to bug you again.. Thanks Dame !! Smile.

Glug of olive oil and sweat 2 roughly chopped onions with some garlic- I use paste.

Add diced carrots and celery- don't be neat, rough chopping is name of the game.

Add squirt of tomato puree and a can of tinned tomatoes, knorr chicken stock cube in half a cup of boiling water.

2 cans of drained butter beans - Waitrose or Aldi are best ime.

Loads of dried parsley and black pepper.

Simmer for at least half an hour and add water if it looks a bit thick.

Serve with a drizzle of oil and crumbled feta on top ShockShockShock

It's a TAT but as it's on Site Stuff I thought it would be ok Wink

LOL I'm guessing that as was hinted, the OP remembered/realised that the friend in question was on Mumsnet and so had the post taken down.

She was getting absolutely hammered though (unjustly I thought)

steppemum · 08/09/2017 15:12

The deletion message was along the lines of 'it wasn't really helping anyone was it'

taken down at OPs request.

Not surprised, it was vicious, mn at its worst.

soupforbrains · 08/09/2017 15:14

That recipe sounds delish, but I can't eat onion, garlic celery or the beans Sad

Will look like this. You can make it more soupy by adding more stock and tomatoes and a nice hunk of bread goes well with it so you can mop up the sauce.

It was appalling.

LineysRun · 08/09/2017 15:16

Sausages were mentioned.

Twistmeandturnme · 08/09/2017 15:16

Thanks I do something v. similar but thought it was Spanish: I guess it's all in the spice/seasonings.. I love beans in stews!

Twistmeandturnme · 08/09/2017 15:17

@LineysRun
Sausages were on the side, not mixed in.,

MrsTerryPratchett · 08/09/2017 15:17

It was the greatest RTFT in all of history. It was BUTTER BEANS 20000000000000 pages later. Not BROAD BEANS.

Since we're in Site Stuff, can't MNHQ make it that the OP's posts are automatically highlighted instead of us having to choose it? That way, people might understand that it was BUTTER BEANS, which are delicious. Cancel the fucking cheque indeed.

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 08/09/2017 15:20

Automatic highlight would be most useful!

MN is fantastically adept at the old mountain/molehill, at times. Is it a full loon moon tonight?

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 08/09/2017 15:20

Mind you, the ability to RTFT helpsHmm

scurryfunge · 08/09/2017 15:24

Thanks for the recipe dame. I do similar meals to that all the time and I don't know what the fuss was.

buckeejit · 08/09/2017 15:24

Really wished I'd seen that thread, feel like I've really missed out. Am going to try the recipe though-intrigued & fingers crossed dc will eat it

Twistmeandturnme · 08/09/2017 15:25

LineysRun · 08/09/2017 15:26

Thank you, Twist. Sounds good to me. A quorn variant would be great too.
