So stratters was banned for something someone else said? Eh? How's that fair?

Here is the first few responses, for those who don't want to sully their browsers. So, stratters has been banned for posting a meme about an unspecified person, then responding in amusement when someone else named a name.

That comment points out the ridiculousness of it all really saucery.

It's a funny picture, it was a joke.

So No one can really complain when MNHQ say they don't like what is being discussed over there and are seen to respond to it.

Nobody posted the cockroach picture over here or mentioned it. MNHQ found it while spying browsing reddit completely innocently or totally unrelated to the current issues surrounding the websites moderation.

It's a public site. Why not make it private if you want privacy? I do think it's a bizarre slagging of a site's users and moderators in public and then acting as if there's been a travesty of justice because you're not wanted back on that site?

I have agreed with cherries through the threads and she/he has taken some abuse on an enormous scale.

She has repeatedly told other posters how pathetic they are, to grow up and get a life etc. If she dishes abuse out she's going to have to expect a response. I certainly have not "abused" her unless answering her claims of us all being pathetic and ridiculous counts as abuse which I don't believe it does.

I'm hoping that the people who think that the Reddit threads are fine genuinely haven't seen the ones that provide a real time commentary on MN threads along with bitchy comments about MNers who are posting

IIRC part of the Stratters banning debacle today came from her asking Tech to do a big favour and find a way to let her have her old user name back whilst at the same time bitching about MN on Reddit. I can understand why Justine's exasperation levels got too much, TBH. FWIW I don't think that Stratters is a troll at all, but there has clearly been some speaking with a forked tongue going on.

It's just that someone called you a twat @mags, I have to look back through the posts which manly consist of whiny @dam being called a cunt. And I wonder what the difference is as some call their vag a twat (cringe). So I just wonder if you can use that to post for next 10pages instead of anything else.

This all seems to have an air of Trump about it. The overbearing, backtracking leader type, not the smell of shit (though that is also true for some on here).

My problem Justine is that you are using a persons posts on a completely different website to make moderation decisions here while in the past you have said you can't use posts from other websites as proof of a troll and I don't like hypocrites.

I can't believe people are complaining that posting on the reddit has ramifications on mumsnet.
The reddit has been posted frequently on mumsnet, referenced frequently, it's hardly been kept a secret, it even has MN in the title.
And of course Justine and MNHQ are going to be bothered about posts made on their about their staff, how shite a workplace would they be if they saw the comments and pictures on reddit about their staff and were just like haha that's fine it might be totes hilarious for other people, but I wouldn't be impressed about being compared to a cockroach for just doing my job.
