Why is MN so slow?

I'm not moaning - honest!

But Mumsnet s very slow - all the time. There's definitely nothing wrong with my internet, I have 200MB download and all other sites are fine.

I just wonder why this is? Are you throttled?

And is still really slow. I am not having this issue with other websites. Using Mumsnet is painful right now.

Like others - painfully slow ...then suddenly fine....then painfully slow again...
I am now at the point where I would prefer it if it was slow all the time rather than raising my expectations -only to dash them with the next click ...
(I actually gave up earlier today even trying...which at least meant I got more done )
And I also think it was down altogether at about 8.30pm...

Mostly very slow, sometimes only a bit slow. Getting 504 errors with pages failing to load at all, also.
Seems worse on my ipad.

Come on MNHQ, sort it out!! Or at least communicate with us!

Yup, site was definitely not loading there for a while. It's kind of like the site gets slower and slower until it stops working and then is ok again for a bit.

Painful here too-am coming on rarely at the moment due to frustration with seeing the Gateway error message and taking 4 attempts to get into a thread. Using IPhone and safari.

I've noticed something (That will probably come as no surprise)

Pages takes ages to load
I get gateway timeouts
A couple of times the iPad has crashed - could be coincidence, but only on mn..

Yet, accidentally click on an ad.... and the ad loads in an instant Hmm

So, what could the problem be...?

I think the problem is specifically Mumsnet/Mumsnet host. It seems to be the actual MN content that takes ages to load, not the ads.

There is something very odd going on for me - not had this before ,noticed in the comments above something similar - this was just before it crashed, and is now still there , even though it is working sort of okay
On Macbook and Chrome.

Bookbook That's always like that. The main MN site is not secure (everything you post is public anyway). They claim their login is secure though, so login page should have a green padlock.

Extra bad at the moment. I often have to click a thread title twice to read it. Almost puts me off browsing the site but I am too addicted

As far as I can tell the LOG IN IS NOT SECURE...
If you use the buttons at the top of the page - (screen shot) - it isn't.
If you use the box at the end of a thread it seems to be...(other screen shot)
(although I think it wasn't then once...Confused but then I am logging in and out through both to check..so may just have got confused)

unlucky - I did that and agree - it says secure when doing the log on to TIO , , not on the maim one. It also reverts to this site is not secure, when you do get in. All very odd.
