Harsh, but ban the non thread readers please!

Lighthearted. Kind of.

I propose that mnhq start banning the non thread readers. The cancel the chequers if you will.

I don't mean people who read threads but don't take in a bit of info sometimes. We all do that. I mean the 'i haven't read the full thread but...' people who then go on to flog a completely dead horse or perpetuate the resurrection of a zombie thread where 20 posters have already said ZOMBIE THREAD.

Read the op, read the end of the thread. If you are moved enough to post then read through the rest. It's not that hard is it?

Bodger and badger.

Harsh, but ban the non thread readers please!
Sparklingbrook · 06/12/2016 07:31

I tend to scroll past the 'I haven't read the whole thread' people and I am still scrolling past the user12345678 names too.

Sparklingbrook · 06/12/2016 07:32

I loved Bodger and Badger. Also Treacle People and a bit of Tots TV. Grin

GinAndOnIt · 06/12/2016 07:33

Ignoring the badger thing for a moment, I tell you what drives me mad is when a poster hasn't RTFT on a thread asking for help to choose something, but they've completely missed the specifications in the OP.

For example, OP: 'can you help me pick a floor varnish? I can't have carpet because.......'

Poster: how about carpet? We have a lovely grey one and it's so much cosier than wood floor'

HerRoyalFattyness · 06/12/2016 07:33

Tots TV was awesome Grin
No idea what treacle people was. Confused
Did love brum. Brum was brilliant.

bibbitybobbityyhat · 06/12/2016 07:34

I totally aree, op.

Ban them, smack their bottoms and turn off their Wi-Fi. At the very least.

Sparklingbrook · 06/12/2016 07:34

Yes some people should say 'Not RTFT or the OP' but have my opinion...

HerRoyalFattyness · 06/12/2016 07:35

bibbity Shock kinky!

Sparklingbrook · 06/12/2016 07:35

Sac magique. Smile

EmpressOfTheSpartacusOceans · 06/12/2016 07:40

At the moment, people can read/scan the OP, scroll to the bottom of the first page and post. Too easy.

Maybe it would be better if they had to get to the last page before posting, OP's posts were automatically highlighted instead of that just being an option, and a warning message appeared saying "Posting before reading the full thread can make you look like a twat."

FizzBombBathTime · 06/12/2016 07:40

Please don't ban them! I love being the person to pipe up and say 'RTFT, 🙄'

Makes my bloody day you know!

longdiling · 06/12/2016 07:41

Bibbity for mumsnet president. What a sensible proposal.

Yes Gin, if you haven't even read the op, why on earth would you give your opinion?

Ah, I'm a Tot, Je suis un Tot, Tilly, Tom and Tiny. Where are they now I wonder?

OP posts:
HerRoyalFattyness · 06/12/2016 07:42

I say we bring tots TV back. And rosie and Jim!

longdiling · 06/12/2016 07:42

I like that warning Empress, I like it a lot. The rest of your post was far too sensible.

OP posts:
longdiling · 06/12/2016 07:43

Raggy Dolls, remember them? Made imperfectly?

OP posts:
Wombatron · 06/12/2016 07:43

Be nice if there was a toggle switch on the app to only read the OP's posts. I get sore thumbs with the scrolling!!

FizzBombBathTime · 06/12/2016 07:43

I had a sac magique when I was a kid

I was awesome.

meditrina · 06/12/2016 07:44

I think you should only be allowed to say you haven't RTFT if you signal that's the case by posting a picture of the Duchess of Argyll

HerRoyalFattyness · 06/12/2016 07:44

fizz Envy
wombat you can just blame time difference Grin

FizzBombBathTime · 06/12/2016 07:45

HRF don't worry I will ask my mum if she's still got it in her loft

Sparklingbrook · 06/12/2016 07:49

They are probably on the big canal boat in the sky with Rosie and Jim. Or in landfill

HerRoyalFattyness · 06/12/2016 07:50

fizz the little bath bombs would love it Grin
Rosie and Jim are not dead! Nooooo!

Fiderer · 06/12/2016 07:52

I loved Tilly Tom & Tiny. The sac magique.

And Brum. Am in Forrin so am allowed to cling to cherished TV/videos even though my youngest is 14. And my video player is kaputt.

HerRoyalFattyness · 06/12/2016 07:53

fid you tube is your friend. My mum had DD watching Chorlton and the wheelies.

GinAndOnIt · 06/12/2016 08:00

I'm gonna have to YouTube the Raggydolls opening sequence now, I've got them in my head going along the conveyor...

I remember going to see Brum in actual real life in the Cotswold (I think). Then dipping my feet in the river afterwards. Sigh
