So I clicked on a thread I had been commenting on and this appeared across my screen. Couldn't see an X to close it and it didn't disappear. Came off the thread and back on and it's gone again now. Strange.

This is a problem on mobile; the Google ads at the top are no longer serving the scaled Google horizontal banners but are serving full size desktop adverts; either the square or the skyscraper. They aren't pop ups they are the standard Google embedded banners just not serving a mobile friendly option. As such they can't be closed or dismissed by users. It started yesterday.

Last time this happened to me I finally gave in and downloaded an adblocker. Haven't had anything since then, whereas it was happening almost every weekend before. So far, I haven't been affected by this latest intrusion, so might be worth considering for those of you who are being plagued by this sort of thing.

I knew getting these in the last couple of days. Not every time but when they come up they cover almost half the screen. Am on safari and iPhone 6s.

It is very frustrating when you can't access the top of the screen and the menus.
