So I clicked on a thread I had been commenting on and this appeared across my screen. Couldn't see an X to close it and it didn't disappear. Came off the thread and back on and it's gone again now. Strange.

Giff Gaff for me too this morning.
Only happens for Giff Gaff ad for me, but happens every time that ad appears (I.E. always covers the page never been usual small top bar size).
On Android ( Samsung S7), Chrome browser.

Gif Gaff for me this morning as well. On iPod - with Safari.

Gah!

It's happened 4 more times since I posted that...

So sorry about this, tech are very much aware and looking into it. We will flag again that it's still an issue, though.

The GiffGaff ad taking over my screen on the mobe site is driving me off MN for now. Unbearable.

I have only noticed this happening today.

It's annoying.

It seems to happen mostly when I go on my "I'm on" page.

Those of you who are affected by this, I understand your frustration. Earlier this year I was seriously considering whether or not to continue to use the site because it was happening so often, almost always at weekends when tech never seemed to be around. MNHQ were saying they couldn't replicate the problem at their end which felt as though they were blaming us for the problems. Eventually, someone on one of the threads suggested downloading an adblocker and I decided to try it as a last resort. I downloaded one from the play store and honestly, haven't had a problem since. I don't get any ads now and can't say my life seems any the poorer for that. Might be worth a try? Of course, it means that the genuine advertisers are potentially losing out, but until MNHQ get this issue sorted, I am far more concerned about the safety and security of my phone.

I am reluctant to pay for ad blocker.

This has just started happening for me. WHY??? Agh.

Using iPhone & Safari

There are plenty of free ad blockers. Using one is the obvious response to MN's continuing inability to get this under control. Adblock Plus is a pretty good one.

The one I have was completely free and I haven't had any problems with it at all.

Posted too soon. It's called Free Ad Blocker by a company called Rocketshield. There are loads of free ones in the play store.

We are trying to get to the bottom of this, I know it is annoying and hard to close.
I have pretty much everyone working on it, continue to update this post please and more importantly let us know if it stops as we are trying different things.
