You never used to delete threads because the poster got arsey when things wasn't going their way!

Protect their privacy my back side. There was nothing to be protected

Empress Grin

PunkrockerGirl · 06/09/2016 22:18

Ffs, the thread isn't.going the way the OP hoped. She flounces off and it gets deleted?

Right, ok then. Are there some new rules/guidelines which haven't been shared with us mnhq?

Soubriquet · 06/09/2016 22:19

If it was a troll then MNHQ will say so

This was deleted so to protect the OP's privacy

OP posts:
ChardonnayKnickertonSmythe · 06/09/2016 22:19

The deletion message didn't say that Queen.

MephistoMarley · 06/09/2016 22:19

I thought the same. That thread didn't threaten her privacy, she just didn't like the answers. Deleting is very heavy handed.

LittleBearPad · 06/09/2016 22:21

I wish they'd stop putting this deletion message because the second sentence is just not true

This thread has been deleted at the OP's request. (We don't normally delete whole threads but we will do so when it is to protect a poster's privacy.)

MNHQ constantly delete whole threads on the flimsiest concerns about privacy. More typically it's because the OP's proved themselves a twat and doesn't like the evidence remaining.

MistressMerryWeather · 06/09/2016 22:23

I can remember, back when I was a sweet summer child on MN I started a thread (I'm not saying what about because it's too embarrassing now) that resulted in the worse flaming imaginable.

I begged HQ to delete it but they thought my arse being thoroughly roasted was an 'interesting discussion' so it stayed.

I still have the scorch marks from that but I absolutely deserved them.

ChardonnayKnickertonSmythe · 06/09/2016 22:25

I've been flamed gently told off, but I've learned and name changed.

Soubriquet · 06/09/2016 22:25

From your talk guidelines:-

Deleting a thread you have started

We don't generally delete whole threads; it's frustrating for those who've taken the time to write responses to see them removed. That said, we're here to make people's lives easier, so if you have a pressing reason for wanting a thread you started to be deleted, please report it to us and we'll take a look

OP posts:
Floggingmolly · 06/09/2016 22:27

They'll probably delete this thread rather than answer it. To protect their privacy...

MistressMerryWeather · 06/09/2016 22:29

Holy crap, I just looked and my roasting arse thread is still there 5 years later.

It's also every bit as embarrassing. Blush

Soubriquet · 06/09/2016 22:30

Like when we wanted to know if Noah James was a troll.

We kept getting a fob off answer and the thread was deleted. Every time

How hard is it to say, yes they was a troll.

OP posts:
AnchorDownDeepBreath · 06/09/2016 22:32

I wonder if it's a coincidence that media interest in MN and MN deleting threads randomly kicked off at the same time?

Floggingmolly · 06/09/2016 22:33

Ask them to delete it now, Mistress. Just for devilment Grin to see if they give you the same old party line.

Soubriquet · 06/09/2016 22:33

Oh dear mistress

Least you name changed.. I tried to look for mine but I can't remember what my name was

OP posts:
WellErrr · 06/09/2016 22:34

If they're going to delete on request they at least need to get a more accurate deletion message.

MistressMerryWeather · 06/09/2016 22:35

I was considering that Flogging but I just can't bring myself to draw anyone's attention to it again. Even HQ's. :o

Oh, the shame.

Soubriquet · 06/09/2016 22:36

Anyone else tempted to know what it was?

OP posts:
EmpressKnowsWhereHerTowelIs · 06/09/2016 22:38

I'm tempted!

MistressMerryWeather · 06/09/2016 22:43

I'de love to stay and tell you both but I suddenly remembered that I must go bake a gender reveal cake.

EmpressKnowsWhereHerTowelIs · 06/09/2016 22:44

Soubriquet · 06/09/2016 22:45

Grin damn...

OP posts:
Lorelei76 · 06/09/2016 22:48

Empress, that poem is brilliant! Grin

ChardonnayKnickertonSmythe · 06/09/2016 22:48

Must have been a bad one.
Full MN bingo card, I'll say.
11 pages full of indignant posters and the occasional voice in support which is then swiftly followed by "Sorry, wrong thread".

MistressMerryWeather · 06/09/2016 22:52

Basically, Chardonnay.

I also had a name change fail in the middle of it all which is what I imagine it feels like when your knickers fall down during an argument. Sad

I don't name change anymore.
