A number of us here have a love of pen porn and wanted to know if there was a grubby little corner you could stick us into??

And if MN wanted to create special personalised pens for us as well we will love you forever...

That's all the permission I need. Pen pot, Lamy Safari in green (with medium nib - I googled!), and ink convertor purchased. I'm going to sit by the letterbox until they arrive Grin.

Fab - must have pictures.... of the goodies.... not you sitting at your door..... Grin

Jem - I have the Purple Lamy AL Star fine nib and some lovely purple Sheaffer ink. It's my go-to pen of the moment!

I'm using it in meetings too as I'm bored with blue! Hope it cheers up my Councillors (although I doubt most of them will have noticed!).

JemTheAngel · 08/06/2016 22:26

I'm liking the deep dark purple MyUsername. Very tempted.

And love love that pen pot. Tempted to get that at the same time!

PigeonPie · 08/06/2016 23:20

This is my purple ink and Lamy

Ooh. Don't know whether to get dark purple or a violet now. Both lovely. My birthday pen arrived today. Am forcing myself not to peak!

PigeonPie · 09/06/2016 16:47

Bah Duchess - Tis mine, all mine Grin. However it may be purchased very reasonably from many purveyors of fine ink Wink

CrazyDuchess · 09/06/2016 16:49

Lol Grin

Are any of you ountain pen lovers left handers? I've never got on with them for that reason but am sorely tempted by what I'm seeing here. However there's no point if I'm just going to smudge everything (and I have found ballpoints that are lovely for my handwriting so I'm not that fussed in the scheme of things. My addiction is paper products.)

BrendaFurlong · 10/06/2016 17:32

Ok random f missing there.

underrugsswept · 10/06/2016 17:34

Yes, I'm a lefty. I'm using a 'normal' nib after the fellow nerds people on this thread told me left handed ones were a bit pointless. I've just bought a Lamy Safari and so far, so good - no smudging. I look like a toddler when I've been writing with a ballpoint - I get it everywhere!

AFingerofFudge · 10/06/2016 17:42

For anyone interested in stationery like maped sharpeners, Sharpies, uniball pens etc, my local Wilko today has come good! Was randomly browsing the stationery (as we do) and suddenly it caught my eye that loads of things were marked down to 10p, 25p etc.
Ordinary price tickets so you wouldn't really know unless you looked, but lots and lots reduced. Uniball individual pens in all sorts of lovely colours were 10p each. Can you imagine how much I drooled?
Spent nearly £12 ( including 2 scientific calculators for £1 each) and came away with a giant carrier bag full. The joy.
Anyway, might be worth looking in your local Wilko!

I am currently lusting after this set with the red ink. I've already got the set with the greenish ink. It was a pressie to myself at Christmas!

Its lovely ink and so nice to see it in the pen. I'm talking myself in to it......

underrugsswept · 11/06/2016 06:12

Bottle with wax seal?

Buy it. Buy it now!

CrazyDuchess · 11/06/2016 11:14

Yes Doyou..... you just have to!!!

Ok so where does this left hander start with looking for a fountain pen? I'll have to start with a basic/ budget version.

underrugsswept · 11/06/2016 15:55

Lamy Safari Grin. Mine was £13 I think.

BrendaFurlong · 11/06/2016 19:25

Does the left handed nib add anything? Should I start there and see what happens? There's a very nice green pen looking at me...

underrugsswept · 11/06/2016 19:29

I bought a green one with a medium nib. I'm very lefty, can't even kick a ball with my right foot, and it writes perfectly for me. It's loads better thank old Parker pen. The ball at the end of the nib is round so supposedly just adapts to your writing style.

Doyouthinktheysaurus · 11/06/2016 20:18

Purchase made! Blame the wine I had last nightBlush

I have requested a cross botanica fountain pen for my birthday too.

I'm not left handed Brenda but I can highly recommend Lamy Safari and Al star pens. They are very reasonably priced and come in such lovely colours.
