A number of us here have a love of pen porn and wanted to know if there was a grubby little corner you could stick us into??

And if MN wanted to create special personalised pens for us as well we will love you forever...

@Paperblank

I am NOT happy.

We NEED a stationery cupboard. And when we get one then MNHQ are not allowed in it. That'll learn ya!

BeccaMumsnet · 09/05/2016 14:46

Just to clarify, this is not a "no", it's more of a "not hinking about it quite yet" whilst we reshuffle the topics.

SoupDragon · 09/05/2016 14:49

this is not a "no", it's more of a "not hinking about it quite yet"

Look, you can't fool us. I think most of us are experienced toddler wranglers and we can spot an attempt to fluff the truth a mile off. "Oh, those dark bits are just oregano, BabyDragon, they are not chopped spinach..."

Seeyounearertime · 09/05/2016 14:50

Becca

This site is by parents for parents
What you just said is,
"We'll see"
Which we all know means no.

"Can we have a pizza tonight love?"
"We'll see"

"Can i spend £20 on stationery sugar plum?"
"We'll see"

etc
Grin

BeccaMumsnet · 09/05/2016 15:53

I pinky promise it's not a definite no!

And also apologies for typo in last post Blush

DontKnowWhatImDoingHere · 09/05/2016 16:43

Thanks stealth, I like the peacock paper, lovely.

under, I have Diamine in eclipse which is lovely ink, but I do fancy the shimmering ink, let me know if it's as lovely as it looks?

FrozenAteMyDaughter · 09/05/2016 17:17

Anyone have a discount code for Cultpens by any chance? I think I need a new fountain pen to cheer me up and Bureau Direct (which does have a 10% off code) doesn't have the one I want sadly.

CrazyDuchess · 09/05/2016 18:55

Don't worry I think we are pretty comfortable in site stuff - it will be the place to go for all pensexuals!

Ooh, Becca, while you're reshuffling and reorganising, you could hold things together with the chippy things pax described and someone else helpfully linked to.

Already bought mine Grin

LemonRedwood · 09/05/2016 19:04

Not chippy, clippy.

RomComPhooey · 09/05/2016 20:33

I like that clippy thing, but I like Japanese stapler thing more. I feel another wave of frivolous purchases coming on.

tethersend · 09/05/2016 20:47

I'm going to throw myself on your mercy- I am looking for a Very Specific type of pen. I'm no stationery aficionado, but I know what I like.

What I like is those cheap biros you get at promotional events- furious googling tells me that they're called Espace twist.

Has anyone got any idea where I could buy fewer than 50? Am seriously considering getting 50 with my name printed on them Grin

tethersend · 09/05/2016 20:48

I also like moleskine hardback notebooks with squared paper. But I know where to get those.

Seeyounearertime · 09/05/2016 20:56

How many pens are you looking for tether? If it's a one off then treat yourself to something nicer than a cheap biro... not that I dislike cheap biro, dirty dirty things.Theyre like the seedy back Street pen of the pensexual world...
Grin

How about:
www.penheaven.co.uk/parker-im-brushed-metal-gold-trim-fountain-pen

That would last and is quite attractive.

CrazyDuchess · 09/05/2016 21:10

Nooooo biros are not dirty - I mean obviously the King's and Queens of the pen world are the fountains but the biro is the naughty cousin quick and cheap (okay and dirty too)

I luffs me bic Blush

OP posts:
Seeyounearertime · 09/05/2016 21:20

Bics are like the higher end of dirty biro though. Theyre more like the high priced escorts. An Argos blue biro in the other hand.... dirty dirty dirty..... Grin

CrazyDuchess · 09/05/2016 21:24

Haha you are right....

Those argos midgets cannot be called pens...... they are mutants I tell you!

I've bought a Rapesco Supaclip dispenser too, lemon. Now that I know what the buldogclippythingy is called, the world is my oyster. Never had multi coloured clips before, only silver.

tethersend · 09/05/2016 21:31

Thanks Seeyou- I HATE writing with fountain pens. Or any expensive pen I've tried- the cheap dirty biro (not a Bic) is the best for the way I write. I love it.

But I'm not sure about buying 50. Was thinking more like 10.

Maybe someone has a company that went bust and wants to offload some stock? Grin

Seeyounearertime · 09/05/2016 21:36

I don't know anywhere that does 10 personalised?

I just googled about and found a 25.
www.thesignbuilder.co.uk/templates/1853/7104?gclid=CjwKEAjw6sC5BRCogcaY_dKZ2nESJABsZihxVL0QOY3EhhLB0HFC8_zdlPxyvjx2G17BplrU7CZPzxoCHWHw_wcB

Or buy the 50 and give them to your friends at Christmas Grin

tethersend · 09/05/2016 21:48

Thanks for trying- I'm not bothered about personalising them, but they do have to be those exact ones (espace twist); not just any old dirty biro Wink

tethersend · 09/05/2016 22:26

I LOVE YOU!

Thank you so much, Seeyou, have ordered 10. Am stupidly excited. Have had to steal all my pens up until now Grin

CrazyDuchess · 09/05/2016 22:28

MNHQ take note of the good work my fellow pensexuals do Grin

I find WHS (the only stationary place I visit) sadly lacking in boys' stuff. You might wonder what sex has to do with notebooks, but I have an 8 year old who will join you guys in the stationary porn corner in due course. His criticism? "I really like notepads and pens, but I don't much like owls, birds of Paradise and butterflies." He does have a point looking at their back to school offers.

Now WHS, print skulls, skateboards or tardises (pl?) on notebooks and we'll buy the lot.
