A number of us here have a love of pen porn and wanted to know if there was a grubby little corner you could stick us into??

And if MN wanted to create special personalised pens for us as well we will love you forever...

AND the eleventy thousand several of these I've just bought.

underrugsswept · 08/05/2016 06:10

Thanks for the advice on the left handed nibs. I did have a sneaking feeling they might be a bit pointless.

I actually found my old Parker fountain pen yesterday when I was tidying so I might try and revive that first as its already been 'broken in' Grin. I think the nib needs a good clean first. I'm looking forward to messing with it!

AtiaoftheJulii · 08/05/2016 08:19

Biscuit tins in a cupboard? I like to see my bits and bobs, so they're in Muji acrylic storage trays and pots. And the pens and pencils that I personally use the most are in La Fermiere yogurt pots.

I'm intrigued by refillable whiteboard pens?

PigeonPie · 08/05/2016 09:21

Atia, the boxes are for the spare bits or refills. So, I don't need the box of staples or the glue which is used occasionally on my desk - just the stapler with staples in.

The boxes keep all the bits organised so that everyone knows where to find them and woe betide them if they don't put it back in the right place when they've used it!

AtiaoftheJulii · 08/05/2016 11:28

I wasn't meaning to be disapproving, sorry! I am open and welcoming to all aspects of stationery addiction Grin Just offering more temptation, lol, as obviously stationery storage is very important.

(I do like to have all my staples, Pritt sticks, protractors, pen refills, etc where I can keep an eye on them though.)

Dd2 is busy revising atm, which seems to be the absolute best excuse for buying paper (A3, coloured lined, a variety of index cards), pens (obviously everything has to be multi coloured, and the mind map won't work if your pens are of different types - no mixing fibre tips with ball points!), and other essentials (such as key ring rings for making little books). Her revision materials are a joy to behold.

DontKnowWhatImDoingHere · 08/05/2016 11:57

Yes to boxes etc .. I need a way to keep my pens and inks, staplers, sellotape etc in order, but looking pretty on my shelf. All suggestions welcome.

What inks (bottled) would you lovely people recommend? I have a bottle of Diamine ink, I'm very happy with it, but want to buy another colour, so wondered what is generally thought to be the best ink out there?

(We need a pen emoji!)

LemonRedwood · 08/05/2016 19:05

Refillable whiteboard pens

paxillin · 08/05/2016 19:28

Oh, thank you, LemonRedwood.

AtiaoftheJulii · 08/05/2016 22:45

Thanks Lemon!

Don't know if any of you are on the FB Bullet Journal Junkies group, but I just saw this (rest of the world) Mothers Day pic there and it made me grin.

Also saw a Bureau Direct giveaway of colour-coordinated BuJo sets, a Leuchturm notebook, fountain pen and some bits and bobs - go to prpage.co/D_B/%2B4223/ and say which colour is your favourite. (Sorry the link looks rather anonymous, it is legit, I promise!)

Seeyounearertime · 08/05/2016 23:01

Sharing a lonknoth us here so that for everyone that nters you get more points and a higher chance of winning... sneaky sausage is sneaky. Grin

*Link with

ExtraHotLatteToGo · 08/05/2016 23:11

It's amazing how quickly some people can go down in your estimation 🙁Don't you find that Becca?

Come on - Stationery...what's not to love about that?!

AtiaoftheJulii · 08/05/2016 23:12

lol, I never do that sort of thing normally, but it was there and I thought I would be efficient! (Am sitting here with my bullet journal, so this is my most efficient moment of the day Grin )

I can't actually find a direct link now, but you could go straight to www.bureaudirect.co.uk/ and try to find it yourself if it's a matter of principle for anyone Wink

AtiaoftheJulii · 08/05/2016 23:17

Plus I assumed a lonknoth was something to do with Chris Noth, so had accepted your terminology quite readily!

Seeyounearertime · 09/05/2016 07:59

Well I entered Atia so you should have some extra points, good luck I say.

I'm hoping to get into the city soon, living in a small town with no stationer is no fun and the small area in Tesco just isn't enough for me. There is a Paperchase in the city though, credit card might have to take a little hit. Grin

CrazyDuchess · 09/05/2016 09:22

Guys - I am feeling a little down...... can anyone point me in the direction of pretty notebooks to cheer myself up??!!??

Crazy

hows that? Grin

I've been perving looking at:
www.paperchase.co.uk/stationery/notebooks

I would just add that this thread has reignited my Pensexuality, i was doing well at keeping it in the cupboard but it's getting harder. My GF is now telling me i can't get buying naice pens and pads etc because we're supposedly saving for a car :(
I think her priorities are wrong tbh. Grin

CrazyDuchess · 09/05/2016 09:37

seeyou I never normally recommend LTB but in this case..... Grin

Thanks for the links........ stationary will never judge me or let me down

Viva la Pensexuals Wink

Since you stationary boffins are assembled, maybe you can tell me what I need. In a previous job I had a clippy thing that spat out something like a mini bulldog clip which could "staple" without holes. The clips came off afterwards without breaking nails (great for photocopying) and could be re- used. WHS staff were no help when I described and pantomimed my bulldog-clippy-thingy. What was it and where might I get one, please?

paxillin · 09/05/2016 10:06

It was! Thank you. You guys should have a topic, you could run an advisory thread, be the pigletjohn of stationary Grin

CrazyDuchess · 09/05/2016 10:08

Since MNHQ won't give us our own corner we are just going to post in site stuff until our demands polite requests are granted! Grin

To the long overdue question about lovely writing paper, the stuff which I am hoarding came from here (I have the A4 handmade paper set)

underrugsswept · 09/05/2016 14:24

Dontknow, it hasn't arrived yet (dispatched today, eeek!) but I've just ordered some Shimmering Seas Diamine ink. It's blue with gold shimmer. I can't wait to try it!
