Page keeps reloading on Safari

Every thread I'm trying to read, the page will reload half way through. It's also doing it as I post so my posts are disappearing.

It's fine for me now but I'm another one who's going to wifi only. I had to upgrade my package because I kept running out of data and couldn't figure out why. Still it doesn't matter that much I suppose.

Many thanks for getting rid of that advert though, it was driving me insane Grin

OhPillocks · 24/11/2015 21:06

iPad mini is also crashing and the typing is very laggy. Sad

Safari plus latest iOS

wonkylegs · 24/11/2015 21:11

iPhone 6 safari has reloaded several times for me today, also had problems responding to messages very slow to type. It's intermittet though - I'd chalked it up to my wifi but now others have said I realised actually it's only happening on MN

OhPillocks · 24/11/2015 21:12

iPhone 6plus on 3G not wireless seems to be working ok but I have got an ad blocker installed. I use blockr and the page is free of pesky ads.
Safari and latest iOS

I understand that Mumsnet needs advertising revenue but crappy troublesome ads will make more people turn to adblockers

OhPillocks · 24/11/2015 21:15

I've switched my iPhone 6 Plus to wifi and it seems to be working well.

I think it's the adblocker that's making it work.

I think it's time to install an adblocker on my iPads Wink

freshoutofluck · 24/11/2015 21:39

I have only glimpsed it before the repeated crash, but the ad that seems to be problematic starts with a page of pink clouds with a sort of floating island in the middle ... Reading that back it sounds like I'm hallucinating.

BertrandRussell · 24/11/2015 22:44

Got better for a while- now dreadful again. At least it's good touch typing practice!

TheImminentGin · 24/11/2015 22:52

Don't know if it's related but I got logged out.

gamerchick · 24/11/2015 23:21

It's a bad weather ad now. No idea what it's advertising as it reloads until it gets to the end.

I'm just refreshing the page until a still one comes before posting now.

Mine has been ok this morning so far!

Mrsrochesterscat · 25/11/2015 08:51

I'm only going to use wifi. I too have had to add more data after being under for years. No change in use (Except I stopped streaming Spotify when I'm out after last month's bill).

Just checked settings, I've used 3.7 GB of data on safari in the past 6 days. I only mumsnet through safari. I use apps for everything else.

gamerchick · 25/11/2015 09:00

So basically it costs a fortune to use MN these days. In data, charging time for dead batteries and our minds when ads are to big for our phones Grin

I'm glad in a way it's happening to other people, I really thought my phone was knackered.

Mapless - I've just downloaded Lionz, but I can't turn it on in Settings. Any ideas?

How to turn on ad blocker apps in ios9 on iPhone

Settings --> Safari ---> content blocker ; then you can toggle on the content blocker)

I've been using Blockr since yesterday and it seems to be working ok. I can personalize itfor different sites.
Mumsnet is still crap on my ipad2 so I'm off to download an adblocker on that.

I've downloaded Ad Blocker. It's blissfully quiet and white at the top of my screen now.

gamerchick · 26/11/2015 23:11

Not for me it isn't. I was getting multiple reloads for each page earlier. Now it's just ever 3 pages or so.
