Mumsnet mafia ??!!!

Am a really new poster to Mumsnet having just found out I am pregnant for the first time EDD June 1st, have been surfing the site and making a few posts but have been very surprised by the amount of vitriol in some of the posts on certain subjects, and am amazed about people outing other people and everyone seems to know everyone elses business - more than you might expect on a forum? How does that work?? Is there like a bunch of people who all live in the same road or something? Just wondering as on most forums I post on there are lots of people sharing views but it rarely gets that personal inn terms of people getting to know other people off line. Made me wonder if there is a Mumsnet mafia in place!! Makes me alightly concerned about posting my thoughts and feelings about the things that are happening to me and about how my privacy will be respected.

Do you really pity him?

Honestly?

SherlockLGJ · 10/10/2006 11:31

Welshy

I gave you a hug, you ungrateful wretch.

The first 'outing' was done by him. Admittedly it had been deleted by the time WB named names, but he was the first.

I apologise for telling you off WB. I am now so bloody pissed off at the pair of them that I no longer really care what is said. I care more about the fact that so many of us have been used by her - she stayed at my mum's last year after one of her dramas ffs. I learnt an awful lot about her in those 4 days I can (but won't) tell you.

expatinscotland · 10/10/2006 11:33

The world is too full of those who truly merit pity to be bothered w/arse wipes w/no self control, respect for others or maturity when they have kids.

Bugsy2 · 10/10/2006 11:33

Welcome Charlyp & congrats. Thanks to you, I have finally found out who were involved in the Mumsnet affair. I've been here for 6 years & didn't have a clue until it was just spelt out for me here!
Have fun here & get lots of great advice too. It is a great place.

WelshBorisKarloff · 10/10/2006 11:33

She is one messsed up puppy StG

But its not our problem anymore

soapbox · 10/10/2006 11:34

I've got the first thread, and there is no mention of his name until he outs himself! From then on, I think it was fair game for him to be named!

Of course, it is horrid for his wife, but frankly what I think is more horrid is that she might never know what a useless tosser he actually is!

CreepyJess · 10/10/2006 11:35

Yeah rightly or wrongly I felt pity for him.. but much much more sympathy for his wife. And her husband.

throckenholt · 10/10/2006 11:50

If either of them cared what their other halves thought or felt they would have told them themselves - long before any threads were ever started on the net.

It seems that it was not a new situation to either of them.

The "poetry" was a bit over the top - but was a genuine expression of the shock and annoyance at the way the people involved had treated everyone around them. A very sad and sorry situation for anyone touched by it.

throckenholt · 10/10/2006 11:56

wow - I killed it !

VeniVidiVickiQV · 10/10/2006 12:35

throckenholt....i think you could be onto something, maybe this could be an official MN role for you

yeahinaminute · 10/10/2006 12:52

Haven't been on MN since Thursday - and now I'm trying to catch up from these posts and the original one is deleted .... was there a big hoo - hah ?? I think I get the drift - someone who's name is linked to Tikkabilla has been having it off with a male poster and she's up the duff .. Right ?? Is it TRUE or was it a wind up ??

SherlockLGJ · 10/10/2006 12:52

Sadly

Very True.

FIMBOnABroomstick · 10/10/2006 12:56

Is this the reason why the female split from her dh, or was what happened there true?

MellowMonsta · 10/10/2006 13:10

Not sure if anyone really knows. It was all abit weird lots of stuff came out. I think she had been texting someone else dh too, even before this latest one came out.

yeahinaminute · 10/10/2006 13:11

Oh - so not a wind up then - how bloody miserable - If I've got this right they have "outed" themselves on MN before having the good grace to speak to their partners and try to be honest and upfront with them - what a bunch of low-life cowards

Bugsy2 · 10/10/2006 13:20

I don't think they are low-life or cowards. I feel very, very sorry for everyone concerned. It strikes me as the sort of mess that only unhappy people could get themselves into. I don't believe they deserve our condemnation but our sympathy.

VeniVidiVickiQV · 10/10/2006 13:21

Its quite possible fimbo.

FIMBOnABroomstick · 10/10/2006 13:23

It's all very sad.
