Can we have a Mumsnet pet?

We could have a little window showing a webcam view of it on the right hand side of the site, if you can squeeze it between the adverts. It would be good for those of us who don't have pets of our own or who accidentally ate theirs.

I suggest a tank with a goldfish called Mr Fish. I would also like a miniature goat, but it would probably drown in the tank. Sad

A donkey!!!

BathshebaDarkstone · 04/11/2014 20:29

Axolotl. Which of course should be called Aristotle. And please Evil, how did you accidentally eat your pet? Shock

MollyAir · 04/11/2014 20:30

We could actually really sponsor a pet:

this one

ArsenicSoup · 04/11/2014 20:30

Don't they eat small pieces of raw liver Bathsheba? Who gets that job?

GobblersKnob · 04/11/2014 20:31

Awww soupy, there can be no other pet really, though a goat seems fitting ;) could we have Noel Fielding?

MollyAir · 04/11/2014 20:31

Dang! Link fail.

Soupy can never be replaced. Soupy will live in our hearts forever. It would be like when a Blue Peter dog gets retired and they try to get everyone all jolly and excited by holding a naming competition for the usurper.

CelibacyCakeAndElevatorMuzac · 04/11/2014 20:33

I was going to suggest a cat until I really thought if through

Netmums would be up in arms if the Mumsnet cat shit in their twinkly borders.

A fish is much better, agree needs to be bigger than bite-sized what the actual Jeff!!? so I'm bringing a Tuna Fish to the table.

BathshebaDarkstone · 04/11/2014 20:34

I wouldn't mind Arsenic, I like weird pets. Grin

Trisarahtops · 04/11/2014 20:39

I vote for a pigmy hippo.

CrumpleHornedSnorkack · 04/11/2014 20:41

Oh one of those fighting fish as a warning to the trolls. A sort of "play nice or we unless Bernard on you" type thing.

Because Bernard is the perfect name for a fighting fish.

CrumpleHornedSnorkack · 04/11/2014 20:42

CrumpleHornedSnorkack · 04/11/2014 20:42

MrsNutella · 04/11/2014 20:46

A capybara. Or Axolotl.

ArsenicSoup · 04/11/2014 20:53

It's the liver I don't like Bathsheba not the axylotls (sp?)

EvilTiggyD · 04/11/2014 20:53

Gerbils? I think they sometimes eat their young, which would be cool for a parenting site.

I used to work with 2 people who ate their pet rabbits. (or their parents cooked them at any rate). That would have been in the 70s though, when everybody did it.

LemonDrizzleTwunt · 04/11/2014 20:55

sunnyrosegarden · 04/11/2014 20:57

it has to be a goat, doesn't it?

We had goats at school . They are very affectionate.

PixieofCatan · 04/11/2014 20:59

I need micro pigs in my life! How cute!

What about a hedgehog. Or rats? Rats are fun, they sit in your bra looking all cute.
