My phone is fine. It was happening on the laptop.
The adblocker was also going nuts. Never seen so many blocks from mn before

Hello all - how absolutely horrid. The tech team have had a look and can't immediately see anything wrong at our end, so think it may well be a malware issue or possibly a rogue ad.

If you experienced this, could you possibly explain exactly what happened? It would be very useful to know, for eg., whether you clicked on an ad and were redirected to an external site; clicked on a link to active convos and were taken to an external site; or whether you were on the active convos page, or another MN page, and one of the banners was advertising a horrid site?

If you clicked on an ad it would be great to know which one.

Nothing is happening on my ipad on the desktop site or on my iphone on the mobile site.

It's not just MN it is happening to for DH and I. Our football clubs mobile site is doing the redirects too- play store, poker games etc.

So I wonder if it is something to do with the mobile browsing, but not the browser itself IYSWIM? It hasn't happened for a little while now

MNHQ did you read the link I posted? Are you absolutely sure there is no malicious code at your end?

Kate, I never click on ads. I was just browsing Chat when Chrome blocked access to the page, due to it containing malware (See my pic above).

It's never happened before or on any other internet site.

It even says the content was from pix.bit.ly 'a known malware distributor has been inserted into the mumsnet web page'.

When it was happening to me, I was on my laptop, windows 7, using Chrome. I was in active, and clicked into a thread, didn't matter what part - chat, aibu etc. It did not matter what thread. I did not click ad links on any site.

Hi happened to me this morning. Wrote it off as one of those weird things but then noticed this thread now. Didn't click anything was browsing active convos when my browser redirected to some sort of porn site. We have a blocker on our router so I just got my sky warning page telling me the page had been blocked as it was pornography

Horrible and all that, but I do love the Britishness of this thread.

We had a malware alert earlier this week after MN had taken longer than usual to load.

Has this happened to anyone this arvo?

Another issue, I click a link and I get a box telling me no data recieved, and redirects. Mn is the in text form

Didn't click on ads, thought maybe I had so kept trying again and am sure I didn't.
Was in active conversations and whenever I clicked on a thread it would redirect to youtube (didn't get porn)

I don't know if this is linked or not, but I just did a restart on my computer, and it turned on one of my security shields that I hadn't realised wasn't running - and lo, I could no longer access MN!
It kept giving me a message like "no server", and redirecting me to a Bing search, which brought up a couple of threads but I still couldn't get onto them.

I remember seeing a notification a little while ago that this site had no security certificate, or similar - maybe that has something to do with it, or maybe my security shield is picking up (I don't know how or even if it's possible!) that your site is no longer secure or safe and has been hacked/invaded by malign influences.

I run Chrome on Windows 7 on a desktop.

I had this on my android phone on the mobile site a few weeks / a month ago. I was getting redirected to the play store to certain apps. Luckily no porn for me. It was happening when I clicked on threads but I didn't notice if it was in specific topics only. I went back to using the app as it was around the time you said you were working on the mobile site so presumed it was something you were working on.

A few weeks ago, I had the "ewank" one. I assumed I had mis-clicked, but then I read this thread. It happened twice in a couple of days.

I just got redirected to a porn site while browsing the Robbie thread in AIBU. I closed it fast so not sure which one, just saw more BJs than I needed to.
When I tried to get on here, it told me I'd made a bad connection.

And as that posted it sent me to App Store...

Me too, getting redirected to porn sites and App Store downloads. Taken me about 5 attempts to post this as it keeps sending me elsewhere.

This just happened to me. I was browsing in Christmas fgs! It redirected to one site, then another, then some wierd chat thing, then the poker app.

I started a thread about this a few days ago. Redirected to e w a n k when clicking on a link from active convos. Also had malware warning and was redirected to phone sex site via active convos. I'm on an Android phone.

It hasn't happened to me anywhere else.
