The Mumsnet Summer Loom Band Challenge - £200 of Hobbycraft vouchers up for grabs

Cabin fever setting in when the school holidays have barely begun? Wondering how on earth you're going to keep the DC entertained for six (gulp) whole weeks? Introducing...the Mumsnet Summer Loom Band Challenge.

For anyone who has been living under a rock for the last few months doesn't know what loom-banding is, here's a quick guide.

Like those of you who saw it, we at MNHQ were most impressed with the loom band dress that recently sold for more than £170,000 on eBay, and it got us wondering what loom brilliance Mumsnetters' offspring were capable of.

Post pictures of your DC's best creations below, and our favourite (loom band gin bottle anyone?) will win a £100 Hobbycraft voucher, with two £50 vouchers available for runners-up.

The competition is open until midnight on Sunday 10 August.

here is a selection of my ds's (9) oeuvre...

this is just what was lying round the house, it doesn't show the bands made for his classmates/grandparents/aunts and uncles etc, nor the minecraft themed ones gifted to friends

you will recognise among them the sailor's pinstripe, the hexafish, the flexafish, the taffy twist, the dna band, zippy chain, elevator, dragon scale, single shain, frilly tyre track, pencil grip, the diamond bracelet, candy cane, twizzler, sweetheart bracelet, starburst, inverted fishtail, 6-pin hexafish, double-x bracelet, daisy chain, and others [big smile]

and this is his entry - not the most technically difficult piece, but my absolute favourite as it was made especially for me, using fancy pink bobbly bands for the edge that we got on holiday, and luckily it goes with everything, as i wear it every day

loom bands rule! great to see so many others enjoying them!!

How do I post a thing for the competition

Can anyone help me with getting my competition post on the web ???????

lolcoolfunny i just transferred my photos onto the computer (put them on the desktop straight from my phone), then when you post a message, just below the message box it says Images: choose file - you click on 'choose file' and select the photo you want - simples! tonight is the first time i've posted an image too

Wearing (to work LOL!) loomy inventions by my boys. DS1 (7) designed the one on the left and the one on the right was designed by DS2 (4)

This is my 7yr old daughters Anna and Elsa. All her own design.

What talented children we all have! Has the winner been chosen, dd2 keeps nagging me to find out. My favourite was the gymnast.

Morning all, apologies for the slight delay in choosing the winner since the competition closed - it has been a blimmin' hard job as all the entries were so good! After much deliberation though we can reveal that the overall winner is...
