The Mumsnet Summer Loom Band Challenge - £200 of Hobbycraft vouchers up for grabs

Cabin fever setting in when the school holidays have barely begun? Wondering how on earth you're going to keep the DC entertained for six (gulp) whole weeks? Introducing...the Mumsnet Summer Loom Band Challenge.

For anyone who has been living under a rock for the last few months doesn't know what loom-banding is, here's a quick guide.

Like those of you who saw it, we at MNHQ were most impressed with the loom band dress that recently sold for more than £170,000 on eBay, and it got us wondering what loom brilliance Mumsnetters' offspring were capable of.

Post pictures of your DC's best creations below, and our favourite (loom band gin bottle anyone?) will win a £100 Hobbycraft voucher, with two £50 vouchers available for runners-up.

The competition is open until midnight on Sunday 10 August.

Here are three bracelets that my 10 year old son has made, all by himself. There is a moustache bracelet, dragon scale and starburst. He tells me that two of the designs are advanced level

Trying again! This is DD2's creation, a very simple bracelet but made with no help whatsoever and she was only just four & a quarter :)

Wow - have come back from holiday to some absolutely smashing entries; can see this is going to be a tough call! Still a few more days to keep 'em coming, and should add for anyone wondering that we will take your DC's ages into account when judging

Gin and tonic ingredients from DD (aged 9) who read the thread, and recognising the gin reference, ran and got the gin bottle and tonic can to copy

Here's my DSD's entry :-) a tripple fishtail headband. Took her several attempts as she suffers with Irlen Syndrome and Hypermobility.
