We're thrilled to announce that Mumsnet is going to be leading the NHS trial to outsource maternity wards - see the full announcement here. Over the next few weeks we'll be popping up regularly for feedback on how you'd like maternity wards to operate and to hone our plans. The aim is simple - to make the UK maternity wards the envy of the world. Move over Bounty, it's time for #MNHS!

But will there be a pedicure bar, brazillian treatments and bum bleaching on entry?

andsmile · 01/04/2014 17:52

Oh and I'd want a 'horte-cature' birthing top like that women had on OBEM

TiggyKBE · 01/04/2014 18:31

Will the wards shut several times a day for no real reason like the site does?

scottishmummy · 01/04/2014 19:12

I opened the link, started reading and thought "ooh, how interesting" then got down to Angela Hernandez and thought "hang on a cotton pickin' minute!" Good try though. :o

I feel sorry for the woman who dares to say "AIBU to....." ;)

The noon rule on April 1st has to have been invented by teachers? We never had at school in France- merrily continued sticking fishes on each others' backs till going home time. Also stink bombs. They were lovely. NOt.

JugglingFromHereToThere · 01/04/2014 21:06

Who is Angela Hernandez and why did she give the game away?
Have to say I was suspicious from the start ... hey I get to legitimately use my favourite emoticon for once ... Hmm (sceptical)

Anniegetyourgun · 01/04/2014 21:23

Now don't go pretending it was all a joke; you've raised expectations, you have to do this. You know you want to. And we want you to.

(Can't believe anyone had to actually read further than the subject line to realise it was not, you know, entirely serious...)

BoffinMum · 01/04/2014 22:10

I may be 46 but I would be TTC if all that was on offer Grin

ScrambledSmegs · 01/04/2014 22:36

Juggling, have a look at the first post on this thread. It's pretty much my favourite ever thread on MN.

Angela Hernandez is the Spartacus of Mumsnet Grin

GarlicAprilShowers · 02/04/2014 01:49

I'm a day late to this ... Grin Brilliant work, mnhq!

Anybody know whether I can come in anyway, without having a baby? I'd like to use the rapid-response section facility for a nip & tuck, and am guaranteed to raise post-partum spirits at the gin bar

Breadandwine · 02/04/2014 03:38

As a dad of two and a granddad of four, I think this whole thread is hilarious!

…Erm… I have to admit I did get to about the third or fourth post before I twigged the date.

Well done! Grin
