Some folk need 4x4s. Nothing wrong with advertising them to help those for whom they are appropriate for their needs to choose.

Is it my imagination or do Londoners have a problem with everything?

As for the advertising, can't see why you'd have a say in it. I guess MOthercare adverts must be quite upsetting for someone who's struggling to conceive or has had a miscarriage.

i dont want to start a fight, but yes i am a memeber of freecycle, yes, i only buy veg in season and yes, i drive a 4x4. i live in a small village and i drive it on a farm. so there. dont assume, ask.

Yep our family have a 4x4 and we own two tractors and a lorry. We also own a farm.

k, my twopennyworth re 4x4's. I saw a landrover with personlised numberplate think it was LI5A or something. IT was flash shiny and quite pretty. Totally not used for the purpose of being a 4x4 (eg good for use in the countryside/farming communities (my uncle has one and famrland to boot) or towing large vehicles such as horse trailers. I made immediate judgements about the driver. MY view was that she was irresponsible and self obessed. bad of me, maybe. BUT a person hit by a 4x4 is at a far greater chance of being killed. The vision is obscured by such a high bonnet and small children are unnoticed.

IMO cars and school runs dont mix but there are many families who have to due to work commitments.

I like 4x4's as in proper landrovers used for the purpose they are built. I dont like the 'fashion ac cessories' or the huge cowbar things on the front purely from the point of view of safety and the fact that they are quite chavvy
