Hi all,

Tech has asked us to let y'all know that they will be tinkering in the backend Blush on Sunday morning around 10am.

The site will be down for a while so they can do some essential maintenance and upgrades, hopefully not for too long.

Fear not, there will be no dramatic changes. We are just giving you a heads up that this is happening.

TheDoctrineOfWho · 22/11/2013 18:18

Is it because you are all working on a big bubble of timey wimey stuff for the Who namechange winner?

TEEARDIS · 22/11/2013 18:23

I think they are all planning playing some sort of Doctor Who 50th Anniversary Drinking Gameâ„¢ on Saturday night and are positive they'll all be too hung to do anything with the site.

So they are just shutting it down.

OneStepCloserIWillExterminate · 22/11/2013 18:39

Oh ok, but it doesnt get turned off one minute before 10am ok?!, as Im on the morning shift and I am not prepared to sit from about 7am till 10 watching shitting clone wars.

Thanking you ever so much Grin

SPsWouldCatFishNev · 22/11/2013 18:41
Sad

What am I meant to do?!

FruOla · 22/11/2013 19:04

Thanks for letting us know. I'll have to do an 'early shift' on MN - and then go back to bed at 10am Grin

I think Tech needs more than a Brew, more like a Wine = Manhattan.

Actually, if 'Tech' Tech is doing this, won't he be starting work at silly o'clock in the morning - his time?

AliceinWinterWonderland · 22/11/2013 19:06

We'll be decorating our Christmas tree that day (yes yes I know!!), but I sincerely hope that means the Christmas smilies will all be available when you're back! Horrible to feel all festive and have no Santa smiley!

I do hope this will stop all the "not online" stuff that keeps cropping up lately.

IslaValargeone · 22/11/2013 19:19

I really must put my glasses on. I read the title as Planned site Outrage and wondered if Anyfucker had been suspended again Wink

FruOla · 22/11/2013 19:25

"Planned site Outrage" Grin

StealthPolarBear · 22/11/2013 19:33

Nooooooooo 10am on Sunday is when the dc go to rock climbing and I get time to mn in peace. Im going to have to do housework. See what youve driven me to.

EeyoreIsh · 22/11/2013 19:35

That means I'll actually have to get out of bed and not waste my morning Angry Angry Angry

ThisIsMeNow · 22/11/2013 19:48

What the actual fuck?! I've been using the mobile app all this time and thinking 'what the jeff are this lot on with? All these gappy bits in messages?' and you're sharing cake?? CAKE???

AND you're telling me I've got to entertain myself dd on Sunday morning??

I'm off.

I'll be back

MrsTerryPratchett · 22/11/2013 20:33

That time doesn't really work for me, MNHQ. Could you make it 10am Saturday?

Cheers Wine

I'm important, right?

whodunnit · 22/11/2013 20:52

Don't tell 'em your name, Pike!

VikingLady · 22/11/2013 21:05

Not Sunday! Noooooooooo! I visit the MIL from hell on Sundays and MN is all that stops me spending time/attention on her inane, racist, disablist and generally ignorant ramblings!

Well, if I crack and strangle her I am naming MN in my defence.

How early will be too early to start on the Wine on Sunday?

MrsPnut · 22/11/2013 21:18

I shall be stood in the cold at Newark watching the rugby but as the site is offline so regularly it won't make much difference.

Pascha · 22/11/2013 21:29

I wonder just how many MNers will end up scrolling through the sidebar of shame on Sunday instead because they can't think of anywhere better to go and its probably the most mentioned other site on Mumsnet? Wink

Perhaps we should compile a list of worthwhile places to visit while we wait instead.

TEEARDIS · 22/11/2013 21:53

This is why it's good to have Facebook and Twitter.

Just sayin'

Pascha · 22/11/2013 21:57

not me, TEE.

meditrina · 22/11/2013 22:05

Isn't it Stir Up Sunday ? So one needs to go to church, then bake something Cake

ThenSheSaid · 22/11/2013 22:06

Yay, I guess tech are finally getting around to installing a Hide Poster Function. That's great news Smile Smile Smile

Shouldn't the outage be, for minimum disruption, during Doctor Who?

Or is that to cruel to nerds? Tardis

juneybean · 22/11/2013 22:57

Well I read the title as "planned site outrage" ... which is probably accurate.

MaryZygon · 22/11/2013 22:58

Is the end of civilisation as we know it?
