Bullying

Does Mumsnet have a clear anti-bullying policy? Where is it, what is it?

I've looked on guidelines but apart from stating no personal attacks there really isn't much.

'to which we are not privy'

Why am I talking like a Blackadder extra?

Hullygully · 02/07/2012 15:14

Verily yon fb is inscribed with secrets and oaths denied such as us.

GetOrfMoiiLand · 02/07/2012 15:14

Innit

Lizzylou · 02/07/2012 15:16

Cripes
Working does get in the way of finding out about the intrigue, eh?

Anyway, did you know that Morten Harket is 53???

Poledra · 02/07/2012 15:38

I wish totally derail this thread by asking GetOrf if she knows of a decent website where I can buy Bare Minerals foundation for not too many of your English pounds.
Ta.

No - I haven't a clue (pinot might know, though). I don't use it as it made me look like a dried up old river bed.

I think Feel Unique is cheaper than the shops www.feelunique.com/brands/bareminerals/face

I threw my barely used pots of it away a few weeks back. Wish I'd have known, could have sent them to you.

Pinot · 02/07/2012 15:46

Poledra get thee to LilyLolo instead of BM. So much better, half the price and you choose your colour using £1.29 tester pots. Once chosen, get from FeelUnique as no postage cost from there.

Over and out.

GetOrfMoiiLand · 02/07/2012 15:47

I dropped one of those lily lolo tester pots all over myself once when I was wearing a black dress

Lizzylou · 02/07/2012 15:47

Don't these powders just make your face all, well powdery?

I don't get it.

Poledra · 02/07/2012 15:48

That's a shame - it works well with my skin, but DH tends to have a bit of a 'How much??' moment when he sees the credit card bill...

GetOrfMoiiLand · 02/07/2012 15:48

If you have sensitive skin poledra be careful of Bare Escuntuals because it has got Vim in it - it made my skin all red and blotchy and itchy.

The lily stuff is better but still not much cop if you have dry skin tbh. And you have to brush it on for ages which is boring and you can't put it on in the car when driving.

GetOrfMoiiLand · 02/07/2012 15:49

Get it from Debenhams and lie and say you bought a set of towels or summat.

Poledra · 02/07/2012 15:50

Oh, Pinot, ta very much!

Lizzy, it makes my face look all smooth and evens out all the rough patches (coz I is a bit of a rough ol' dog) but no to powdery - gives me a better finish than using a loose powder over cream foundation. Maybe that just means I'm a bit greasy as well as rough...

You're all envious of my stunning good looks now, aren't you? Grin

Pinot · 02/07/2012 15:52

It's not really a powder, Lizzy. It's a cream bit in minute little particles. So it goes on like a powder, but when it hits your skin it warms and the brush blends it so it's invisible. For spotty oiks like me, it's a revelation. Liquid foundation slid off me by mid-morning cuppa time, whereas this genuinely lasts all day. Even through exercise (so I've heard)

Poledra try ebay - there are some Power Sellers that sell BM cheaply. Check feedback though to make sure no fakey-fakey.

Pinot · 02/07/2012 15:53

ohh typotastic :(

LtEveDallas · 02/07/2012 15:53

I thought sockpuppetry was when someone posted on the same thread in two names? Like Pinot/Tim has here?

Is it still sockpuppetry if you've only posted once, but mention your other name?

If I said "I think LtAllHallowsEve is a sneaky bitch" does that make me a sockpuppet? Or do I have to NC first?

GetOrfMoiiLand · 02/07/2012 15:55

The stuff went orange and all powdery on me.

I looked like Geena David in Beetlejuice when she aged at the end. <a class="break-all" href="http://www.google.co.uk/imgres?start=366&hl=en&biw=1366&bih=653&tbm=isch&tbnid=D6Vc6B_sK9tmeM:&imgrefurl=www.cinema.de/stars/star/alec-baldwin,1567755,ApplicationStar.html&docid=JmCYYn3gohFg8M&imgurl=images3.cinema.de/imedia/4641/2444641,PoSkyXFWWReS%252BMxlyABAigNhaPA9Y0VnLbahRBORwmkHJ2WSkYN8QvVHWXhseUmHNbM4IA5dX%252B8Gp7hFqW3Zow%253D%253D.jpg&w=800&h=559&ei=LrbxT8CxBqKb0QWUhJHdDQ&zoom=1&iact=rc&dur=345&sig=102107407687793110004&page=15&tbnh=146&tbnw=188&ndsp=27&ved=1t:429,r:18,s:366,i:323&tx=155&ty=89" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">like this

Lizzylou · 02/07/2012 15:56

OOh, I may try me some lilylolo samples then, thanks.
I am using a BB cream at the moment and my skin is bleaurgh and congested (joins Poledra in the gorgeous corner Grin).

Do I need one of them special brushes??

Pinot · 02/07/2012 15:58

Ah, so pretty

I think s/p'ing also includes pretending to be someone else. Or rather, pretending not to be your true self.

I don't know - but I am looking forward to the Clarins 3 dot eyeliner. Said to be amazing at getting really close to your lash line to give doe eyes.

No, sockpuppeting is namechanging to support yourself on a thread without letting on its you. It's fine to namechange during the course of a thread if it isn't done with the intention to mislead.

Pinot · 02/07/2012 16:00

No, ... :o

LeB0F · 02/07/2012 16:01

Tell me about this Clarins stuff, Pinot. Doe sounds good. They really pull us in with the descriptions, huh? Like 'dewy'. I suspect I am too old for doe or dewy.
