Hully. Thanks for saying that. But I have a habit of coming on a thread to talk about one thing and always digress.

I'm afraid I don't have much to add on the tennis player front; I think my credibility is on somewhat shaky ground there, seeing as was a devotee of Boris Becker in his adolescent glory (and I was a mere slip of a girl, in my defence).

However, having read this mammoth thread, I would just like to add my observation that the banning of ArtexMonkey seemed to me to be thoroughly unfair and uncalled for. I assume MNHQ made some kind of mistake, as I know they are not prone to doing things without good reason. However, the fact is that she is banned while other posters, whose behaviour seems to me to be regularly beyond the pale and I report on a regular basis. (and I shall not name because I don't want to be deletes) are still alive and kicking. I really don't see the logic.

Puffin - I don't think that the thread you linked to was too bad - some posters seemed to ignore the question and make up their own problem to answer but lots of people did answer the OP. Sometimes a thread goes off-piste with people diverting from the OP, many times it might be on purpose because they feel that the OP is a troll. Sometimes it just happens... particularly if you've not seen someone around for a while and want to catch them....

The List was, I think, for agreeing with Hully that the heavy deletions were changing the face of MN and making it unrecognisable in a bad way.

I have been confused by some of the deletions and by non-deletions. There was a thread that used - inappropriately IMO - the word 'holocaust' in the title that was left for ages, and may still be there. I am used to being deleted for some things and accept that but I do remember being really surprised by one recently where I wasn't telling the person to fuck off actually rude and yet got deleted.
