Why is there a baking topic?

JenaiMarrHePlaysGuitar · 10/05/2012 16:12

I thought there was a move to rationalise the number of topics on MN.

It was bad enough having Recipes and Food. Now it's Recipes and Food and Baking (oh and Weaning I think). Wouldn't one "Feed The World" topic be preferable?

Sorry if this has been covered already.

Me, Jenai, Mardy and Thisisyesterday will sort it aht, MNHQ.

world cup 2010???

MNHQ... you need to have a tidy up! a proper one. Not just sweeping topics into the corner and hiding them with more topics

I thought we'd raised them better than this.

i'd be happy with 2 topics. parenting shit and other shit

thisisyesterday · 17/05/2012 19:21

so Helen... you don't need things divided up into topics for any kind of analytical reasons or anything like that?

Get0rfMoiLand · 17/05/2012 19:26

SO GET RID OF 'EM ALL

You can have just ONE topic for animals (no need to have dogs, cats, fish, terrapins)

You can have ONE topic for holidays (no need for long haul, short haul, weekend breaks). Just ONE holiday topic.

ONE overarching topic for education - there really is no sensible reason to split it down into primary, secondary etc.

ONE topic for reading. no bloody need to have fiction, non-fiction, e-readers.

agree agree agree

HoneyDragonWearingLederhosen · 17/05/2012 19:46

The idea of baking and main meals separate makes life easier and wine seperately.

Why not simply divide into three?

Grub, Pud and Pub?

Weaning goes well with breast and formula feeding.

HoneyDragonWearingLederhosen · 17/05/2012 19:48

Can we have a section just for Getorf? I think she needs more room to rant Wink

LordFlasheart · 17/05/2012 20:01

God...sounds like womans own, I feel it needs to be more pithy

Get0rfMoiLand · 17/05/2012 20:08

And yes, a topic for RANTS. Grin

Slubberdegullion · 17/05/2012 20:16

If interesting and fabulous Camping threads about delta pegs and sims end up in some god awful mega holiday topic alongside a load of prissy Mark Warner nonsense and ooooh 'is Bali nice at this time of year?' And 'I need a holiday cottage on Dartmoor with a hot tub' I will become quite cross.

Amalgamate the rest of them, whatever, but LEAVE CAMPING ALONE. Seriously.

And if anyone pisses about with The Great Outdoors there'll be trouble.

[crosses arms]

I'm never sure where to put questions about where to buy stuff.

IslaValargeone · 17/05/2012 20:18

Fwiw I love the sub divisions so there.

Get0rfMoiLand · 17/05/2012 20:20

i think we should leave Camping alone.

How about a Wholesome Dullards section?

SilentBoob · 17/05/2012 20:22

There is someone asking for homework help in AIBU RIGHT NOW. Bet they don't know about the homework corner.

SilentBoob · 17/05/2012 20:22

I would love a wholesome dullard section. I would be among my people.

I would feel at home in a Moaning Old Cows section.

Slubberdegullion · 17/05/2012 20:24

Yeah GetOrf. I think you should

And fwiw a Wholesome Dullards topic sounds like a lot of fun.
