I am aware that you can't divulge the means by which you determine whether or not a poster is genuine, predominantly because if you make that common knowledge then posters will know how to avoid being detected in the future.

but jess (long ongoing eleven weeks abortion threads) threads have now been deleted for being a troll, and I was wondering if, given it's the site users who usually report these things, we could perhaps have a bit more by way of explanation?

e.g. when sassysusan was banned, mn hq confirmed that she had previously posted as washwithcare, and users were able to identify.

There has been some speculation that jess was dizzymare, and I wondered whether this was the case?

Also, these threads have been ongoing for over a month now. How is it that it takes quite this long to determine that someone isn't actually all they seem?

You dont need to apologise droves if anything you did the right thing as MN rules state we should not troll hunt.

Well she wasnt strictly a troll was she. I appears her story was/is true, she just had made up her mind but didnt tell us this (for some unknown reason).

Would be interested to know what decision she had made.........

No, ahhh(etc.), I think the point is that on one of the many sites where she posted the same story she had already wound up the drama by announcing that she'd had an abortion, before popping up on MN with her "I'm 11 weeks pregnant and being pushed into an abortion" story and the various dramatic tos and fros in it.

It could be that the first version, posted elsewhere, was actually true. But seems just as if not more likely that she was trolling the other board as well but got bored once she'd drawn her thread there to a dramatic conclusion so decided to run the same approach again here.

Yes I have since seen a thread on a different forum, I believe it could be the same one mentioned above about already having had an abortion along the lines of "they told me my child would be cremated and I could visit the memorial garden". I have a theory that she has had some kind of breakdown and that perhaps posting on "anonymous'' boards as if she still had a choice was part of an illness. Even if she did incorporate her first name and birth date in all of her posts. Perhaps I'm wrong and that she's going to carry her baby and that she was getting something out of leaving us in that position. Either way I believe she needed help of some kind and I hope she now finds it.
