Are your thoughts turning to 2012 yet? What sort of New Year resolutions will you be making? To be healthier, glammier, thriftier, greener, nicer, wiser? None of the above?

Thank you in advance for any posts. Xmas Smile

Last year I made two resolutions and for the first time I succeeded, one was to get back to pre pregnancy weight, and. The other was to shop ethically and locally, no tescos!

Tis year I am undecided. I know I want to do something for myself each week, maybe pilates, I know I need to work harder and I need to take more photos, my beautiful baby is growing too fast!

To read more, I've got a book shelf full of books I've never read.
To do housework while DDs at school so I can spend more time with her when she gets home.
To learn a new skill, already signed up to evening class learning sign language (so fofilled one!)
To be happy Xmas Smile

To continue to improve blog
To get healthier and fitter (2 classes a week min, and more sx!)
To finish writing the novel (it's been a workinprogress far too long)
To be more aware of what's happening in the world.
To try and create less waste by shopping for food more efficiently

Easy peasy! Xmas Wink

Sleep.

My will would be so tiny. To my partner: whatever money is residing in my current account. To any friends who want them: my clothes/books/CDs.

I am so without assets.

Since my birthday is in January I will NOT be staying off the booze Wine

I have decided we have plenty of stuff thanks to Christmas & the (not quite in) January sales, so I am going to see if I can spend a month not buying anything on Ebay! It's a challenge since each item in & of itself is a bargain but they all add up. It's a challenge especially as I don't even have to remember the password on DH's iphone but I'm going to give it a go!

Run a half marathon by July
Stop losing it with my children Sad and remain calmer
Take more photos and videos of them - used to take so many, but have cooled off over the past 2 years.
Take a digital photo course
Use supermarkets less and the local butcher, greengrocer, and fishmonger more

2012 is the year of Buying No More Books.

I plan to read the ones I've already got which should take me up to, ooh, 2050ish.

upahill · 30/12/2011 12:24

Oh I'm the same but with cookbooks!!
I don't even cook that much but have 3 rows on a shelf in an alcove stuffed with them!!

OttoRose · 30/12/2011 12:49

Mine is to take control of my work diary and stop spending all my time in pointless meetings

SantaIsAnAnagramOfSatan · 30/12/2011 13:00

spend my tax rebate on other people - first thing being a spa day for my sister's birthday next week (i'm going too so not entirely altruistic).

to face some demons i've squashed down too long.

to get some occupational therapy work experience whilst volunteering with the OT dept at local hospice and work out if i really want to retrain as one and if so start talking to the uni about course places and options.

get better at asking for and receiving help.

right here goes -

  1. de-clutter, clean and organise the house, room by room.
  2. sort out and keep on top of the mountains of paperwork.
  3. keep up to date with the washing
  4. promote my new home business
  5. take more time for myself to read and relax and sleep
  6. to do the above i need to be strong and say no and stop letting others walk all over me (one set of people in particular)
  7. read this tread often as a reminder
DanFmDorking · 02/01/2012 05:48
  1. Stop making lists.
B. Be more consistent.
  1. Learn to count.
