Are your thoughts turning to 2012 yet? What sort of New Year resolutions will you be making? To be healthier, glammier, thriftier, greener, nicer, wiser? None of the above?

Thank you in advance for any posts. Xmas Smile

To stop fannying about on the internet Grin (again)

CharlotteBronteSaurus · 22/12/2011 14:55

Eat less rubbish (recurring)
Spend less on rubbish - we really have all the stuff we can fit in the blooming house, so why I continue to buy stuff i do not know
Be more productive at work - less coffee and chat, less working late
Have finished decorating the bedroom by 2013
Have paid someone to sort out the bathroom by 2013

CharlotteBronteSaurus · 22/12/2011 14:56

oh, and to get to bed properly early at least twice weekly.

RidingInTheMidnightBlue · 22/12/2011 16:19

This time next year I resolve to be more stylish than I am now and have more self-esteem. This will definitely involve shopping; it may involve counselling. I (and DH) will also start TTC DC2.
I agree with everyone else with the internet fannying - especially on phone in front of DC1!

Pantofino · 22/12/2011 21:29

I AM giving up smoking (for the 25th year in a row Blush)

IwoulddoPachacuti · 22/12/2011 22:16

I need to do something different this year. I've got 1 year until I'm 30 so maybe a 30 things to do before I'm 30 list Smile

Or something cheesy like that!

AvadventKalendar · 23/12/2011 01:23

Lose 1st
Be more adventurous with my make up as I have so many eyeshadows etc that aren't being used and collecting dust...

LizziePizzie · 23/12/2011 11:16

I have taken up a friend on her dare - does that count as a resolution?

She dared me that I couldn't spend any money on clothes for myself in 2012! There are 4 main exceptions:

  1. I can buy essentials, but only on a replace basis. Essentials are basically underwear!
  2. I can make up the cost if I get a voucher for a shop.
  3. I can shop in Charity Shops.
  4. I can shop when abroad.

I am actually looking forward to doing it! Saving money and learning to discipline myself to save money.

Other resolutions include baking more and visiting more Charity shops! :o

I have a few things I would like to achieve in 2012

I would like to be more present, and with that I would like to reduce / come off my MH medication.

I would like to engage more with my family life - this is related to the above, It will be easier to do without my head being full of drugs.

anything else will be a bonus Smile

am really looking forward to it.

SausageWrappedInBaconSmuggler · 23/12/2011 14:06

I want to make more of an effort with my family and be a bit more considerate. I also want to be more assertive.

I would do the obligatory lose weight one but DC2 isn't due til the end of March. Grin

terrortots · 23/12/2011 20:35

Spend less time on my iPhone and iPad and read books instead

measles64 · 23/12/2011 20:42

Am going to food shop on-line so many friends do now and I hate shopping.

FunnysInTheGarden · 23/12/2011 22:25

Toulouse wait as ever........

Sorry Dubai, Moscow

tallwivglasses · 23/12/2011 23:14

Come out of hibernation!

yellowraincoat · 24/12/2011 01:21

Mine is to be more organised and reliable. Realised this year that unreliable people are really bloody annoying when only 6 out of 14 people turned up at my birthday. And our house is permanently a tip and it makes us both mad and sad.

I see both as 2 sides of the same coin. And I really want to make them happen.

Also, to have more sex. ;)

SilentBoob · 24/12/2011 07:28

Less tv for the kids.

WorkingClassMum · 24/12/2011 08:53

Become a vegetarian
Lose 10kg or 10% of my body weight by my birthday (August)
Pay off a huge slab of my credit card
Buy an 3G iPad 2
Buy MOTH a new BBQ for Fathers Day
Start looking at Secondary Schools for DS for 2014

Gracie123 · 24/12/2011 10:42

Lose weight (obviously)
Be more intentional about curriculum (we homeschool)
Get a food dehydrator
Stop buying bread
Try dairy kefir
Blog more regularly
Get 25% equity in house before may (so that we can let it out when we need to!)

Gracie123 · 24/12/2011 10:44

yellow I salute you. I wish more people would make this resolution. DS birthday morning I knew we had between 3 and 14 out of the 20 invited coming.
So frustrating!

Purplehonesty · 24/12/2011 18:31

To get my new house finished and move in before the new baby comes.
Please lord let this happen! Please?!
Also stop wasting money on things we don't need and save more so I don't have to go back to work after the arrival of said baby.
There. Easy!

yellowraincoat · 24/12/2011 18:35

It's quite a good resolution, I think Gracie, and not unachievable by any stretch of the imagination. I am guilty myself of pulling out of stuff at the last minute, stating knackeredness or stress, but now I'm going to try to turn up, even if I just stay for half an hour.

It really upset/annoyed me to be sitting tensely at my birthday party, not knowing if people were coming or not. I was so happy to see the people I did see, but I just couldn't relaxed. Would be horrified to think that others felt the same if I didn't come - and they probably would. It's all tied in with self-esteem I think, I'm fully convinced that if I don't come, people won't be bothered. But they probably are, so from now on, I will stick to my promises.

DingDongFruitShootsMakeYouHigh · 24/12/2011 19:13

My New Years Resolution is 2560 x 1440

MrsWembley · 24/12/2011 19:20

Be more organised around the flat, at least until we manage to sell it.

Sell the flat.

Buy a house with a garden, a biiiiig kitchen and a gift-wrapping room.

Start writing again and actually finish something so that I have a chance of selling something. Otherwise, come September, I might have to get a proper job.

Writing this might actually get me doing it.Wink
