Are your thoughts turning to 2012 yet? What sort of New Year resolutions will you be making? To be healthier, glammier, thriftier, greener, nicer, wiser? None of the above?

Thank you in advance for any posts. Xmas Smile

Like I said yellow I think it's a really great resolution, and like you said, even going for half an hour will show the host that you cared and not leave them wandering.

It also means when you genuinely can't make something they'll understand instead of just feeling like you're flaking out. Wink

GalinettedeChristmas · 24/12/2011 20:25

For me 2012, my new resolution is to be on the top of my finances and that to regain my figure. 2011 was a very hard year but I have managed to stop smoking (8 months) and stopped drinking (6 weeks) so I'm quite chuffed.

soonbeforty · 24/12/2011 22:31

To spend more time on me, little things like having time to shave my legs and book a waxing appt will be prioritised.
Buy a bike and ride regularly with the kids (when the weather warms up).
Stop eating and smoking so much and lose weight - be healthier.
Continue to monitor my spending and to stick to a budget. Although dd1 needs new shoes and trainers so maybe have to start this in Feb.

SingleSoloShattersSparklyStars · 24/12/2011 22:51

Well....

I'm going to continue to lose weight. Another 1st 7lbs would be good.
I'm going to sort out my house big style. Also swap rooms with the Dc's and give them their own space and before I lose the bug, I'm going to paint my front room. And my kitchen tiles. And the outside of my porch. and, and, and...

And I'm going to smile more Grin

FrankincenseStellaAndFries · 25/12/2011 14:39

I'm going to not get pregnant.

I'm going to make more of an effort and try to do my hair and make up every day.

I'm going to continue with my Zumba classes and try to lose more weight.

I am going to eat three meals a day every day
I am going to play with my children more
I am going to carry my DD's memory with me and use it as an inspiration to do positive things.
I am going to be the MOST organised SUPER mum in the ENTIRE universe.

Tigerbomb · 25/12/2011 23:05

I am going to accept myself for who and what I am. No more pandering to what other people think I should be. I am going to be selfish and enjoy myself

saffronwblue · 26/12/2011 07:04

I just got Wiifit for Christmas
It has already been quite stern with me about my weight. Perhaps it wasn't such a good idea to jump on and weigh myself after Christmas dinner.
Sadly to lose weight has been my resolution for about 20 years so this year I am going to look after myself in different ways and focus on fitness rather than scales.
I want to find more joy and purpose in my life - this year has seen a lot of grim plodding, just keeping above water on every front.

Kristingle · 26/12/2011 07:46

Im trying to get fitter. I have a BIG birthday in March and i decided last summer that by then i wanted to be fitter than i was a decade ago

Apart from that just the usual...

Be more organised at work

Be more organised at home

Be nicer to the kids and dh Smile

Santageekmum · 26/12/2011 12:45

I'm going to start the nhs couch to 5k - I've started a thread in the weight loss topic if anyone wants to join me.

I've never run before but am strangely looking forward to it. Smile

TanteRose · 26/12/2011 13:33

Am going to stop regretting...
stop comparing...
stop moaning...
stop biting my nails Blush

start exercising...(will look at your thread Santageek Smile)
start enjoying living in our flat more, seeing as we will be living here for ever now, and making the balcony a nice place to sit out instead of a rubbish tip ...Grin

strandednomore · 26/12/2011 15:54

Enter all the MN competitions...surely if I enter them ALL I'll win something (I can't complain as I won some wonderful Penhaligon goodies a year ago, but I'm really holding out for one of the holidays!)

sweetsantababy · 26/12/2011 16:50

Nope, none I don't believe in them wrong time of year to start all that

However, I will be trying to loose weight/get fit/ manage budget better/ make more friends/ be a better mummy/better at houskeeping , have more sex Blush/ eat healthier and be more glam (nicked from Justine). *As long as you all understand they are NOT NY resolutions, get it? Grin

MynameisnotEarl · 26/12/2011 18:01

I genuinely want to become more involved in my community. I've lived here for quite a few years but don't work locally so hardly know anyone.

My DCs are adults now so if I ever make it off Mumsnet I have time to volunteer at weekends and evenings.

I find it a bit scary as I'm not very outgoing and haven't a clue where to start really but want to try.

ilovesprouts · 26/12/2011 18:09

i need to wash the mug sign off my head and stop letting my dd talk to me like shit and stop lending her money i wont get bk, look after me and my son and get healthy !!

HavePatience · 26/12/2011 20:56

To save money for a very important visit to family and get smear test done.

architien · 26/12/2011 22:45

To work out how to hide a thread and block a user so I never get this upset about offensive comments in the "feminist" section again. Really, not all threads there deserve that title in my opinion.

seniortoeslately · 27/12/2011 04:44

Get the clothes I intend to wear the next day ready the night before, so there isn't a panic Voyage to the Back of the Wardrobe each morning and/or Hasty Erection (of ironing board, at least).

Stop wasting money at Starbucks - I should be able to make my breakfast at home with all the free time I will have in the morning.

katz · 27/12/2011 09:09

I'm going to keep a photo journal of the year, so a photo a day is my plan. I did a mini challenge in Oct and really liked having a reason to get my camera out.

Just need to work out where to 'keep' it.

McPhee · 27/12/2011 09:22

To make 2012 a year of positiveness, happiness and make my nan proud of me.

Oh and to stop spending so much money Blush

EttiKetti · 27/12/2011 09:29

Mine are...
swear less
save money every month
exercise 2+ times a week (was going to be 3 but I want to be able to stick to it.....)

They feel ambitious at the moment looking at my emptying bank account, feeling my hangover badly and facing a houseful of family all week... :o

Hopefully · 27/12/2011 09:37

Make more effort with my appearance
Grow my little business a bit more
Decide whether to go for DC3

upahill · 27/12/2011 18:16

Do some awesome caves
Carry on having fun
