oldqueenie · 08/11/2011 22:56

are we allowed to carry on discussing this?

OP posts:
higgle · 09/11/2011 16:37

Well, I'm still very sad about all this, and don't want to go to TDH anymore because it is so quiet and empty without DBF/V Anyway, have we not, in the main, had pages and pages asking that she be unbanned, and no response from MNHQ on that point ? ( or did I miss a page or two somewhere?)

ConstanceNoring · 09/11/2011 16:39

Nice one mj Grin

TheRhubarb · 09/11/2011 16:43

Did the shit hit the fan then? And I wasn't there? Oh poo! Wink

Actually that does remind me, the last time there was a huge scandal (mouldies anyone?) I was suffering from really really bad grapes that were sticking out of my bum like a greengrocers display and not one bloody person would respond as they were all too busy discussing some bloody secret forum! In the end I had to shove ice cubes up there. Where were they when I needed them eh? Too busy bitching that's where! And there's me hobbling about, unable to sit down never mind have a poo!

ConstanceNoring · 09/11/2011 16:46

Poo and grape stories don't usually make me laugh, ... but that little anecdote was very funny Grin

sorry Blush

MsBrian · 09/11/2011 16:48

Rhubs that's waaaay TMI. Gross. I'm going to leave you all to it if poo keeps coming up in the conversation, I've had enough shit for one day.

BeyondTheLimitsOfAcceptability · 09/11/2011 16:48

Oh no, I missed the death of the poo thread!! :(
Boo hoo!

Well, I still think the suggestion to tag a thread with a warning when a post has been deleted would be a good idea - lets the rest of the group have the option of doing something about it/responding. I hear what you're saying, Rhubarb, but its not answering the point I was trying to make really...

Still, never mind. I never go on AIBU and this thread is beginning to feel a lot like one of those, with added chinese whispers, rumours, rubbernecking and, fair enough I suppose if one has time for it, entertainment.

I do set boundaries with my kids, and I certainly implement consequences, but I try to be creative with them as opposed to exclusive. I support the same ethos at dc's school. Hence my position on banning.

ColdSancerre · 09/11/2011 16:51

I was totally taken in by the poo troll. I'm so stupidly gullible.

ChippingInNeedsSleep · 09/11/2011 16:51

Maryz - I rather think the problem was that she wasn't regular Grin

I had my first post on this thread deleted. Anyone any idea why?

No idea, ChippingIn - did MNHQ not tell you?

SoupDragon · 09/11/2011 16:59

Anything happen what I've been out walking the non rescue dog?

And picking the children up, obviously.

ChippingInNeedsSleep · 09/11/2011 17:04

BIWI - no, they don't routinely tell you, they just delete. I've asked, but I doubt it's anywhere near the top of their 'to do' list!

I've only ever had one deleted [smug git emoticon] but they did tell me why!

531800000008 · 09/11/2011 17:11

so a precis as far as I can make out:

The ban remains for DBF/Valhalla

TLES now banned as well

A separate site set up for DBF supporters

various llama/tortoise diversions along the way

and clicky this for final conclusion

BIWI - smug git.

Grin
ChippingInNeedsSleep · 09/11/2011 17:20

mjin - Grin I guess everyone of your posts was worth it then!!

I woudn't mind being deleted if I knew what the hell I was supposed to have been done.

I mean I got one deleted the other day... a poster has a name something like AbsoluteTwerp and she was being horrible to another, very vulnerable poster - digging away at her and I asked 'AT' why she felt the need to live up to her name.

It was deleted but the digging posts remained?!

I once posted (almost) exactly the same thing as another poster and MNHQ deleted the other post but not mine

Some recent deletions do suggest a much wider deletion policy. The ones deleting links to the MN Rejects forum for example. Hard to guess what the policy might be -- "delete posts that might make trouble" perhaps? Or perhaps they've gone down the "act utilitarian" route.
