are we allowed to carry on discussing this?

OP posts:
SoupDragon · 09/11/2011 11:56

I used to have a link to a fab drama llama though. i shall search it out...

TheRhubarb · 09/11/2011 11:59

Wow Mumsnet HQ must be pretty pleased with the impact they are having! I mean, people are giving up their real lives to bang on and on and on about how they were banned from a virtual internet forum - and then they set up another forum talking about the forum from which they were banned!

If I ever get that sad - shoot me.

Seriously though, surely life is not that bad that being banned from a forum (which is easy to bypass by simply creating another email address and username) takes up all the hours of your day? Do these people not have jobs? Children? Homes? Real life friends?

Sevenfold · 09/11/2011 12:05

another thread??
why, someone was banned.
mn hq run the site their call/
I din't like it when my mate as banned, I talke to mn hq privately, and at the end of the day whether I agree or not it is their call.
same here imo.
there is no way they can back down now even if they wanted too.
(but if they do I will start a thread asking for my mate to be allowed back, as why not)

SoupDragon · 09/11/2011 12:07

"Do these people not have jobs? Children? Homes? Real life friends?"

Fuck! The children!

SixStringWidow · 09/11/2011 12:07

next person to type gets banned

MmeLindor. · 09/11/2011 12:12

If this thread kicks off can someone sound the klaxon. I really need to be doing other stuff.

Parma violets are connected to Bonaparte, are they not? Was it not his wife who loved them?

TheRhubarb · 09/11/2011 12:14

Soupy - they'll at school, it's ok! (apart from the one you've locked under the stairs)

TheRhubarb · 09/11/2011 12:14

be [insert where appropriate] Smile

NoOnesGoingToEatYourEyes · 09/11/2011 12:18

It's not about the ban anymore.

It's more about the llamas than the dramas now.

Did she MmeLindor? Suddenly my halloween leftovers seem much more exclusive than they did before.

MmeLindor. · 09/11/2011 12:26

oh, I googled it.

Seems it was the flowers that she loved.

The sweets are from a British company.

But did you know you can get GIANT parmaviolets?

TheRhubarb · 09/11/2011 12:29

I think you much reach a higher status when you are banned, so you become some sort of celebrity. Freed from the shackles of Mumsnet you can start other forums and slag them all off to your hearts content! Whatever you ever wanted to say but couldn't can all come out. Until you get bored and decide to join Mumsnet again.

Or perhaps not? Perhaps the mouldies/fungals will join forces with the banned to become a super secret forum and perhaps that will all happen just before Christmas. Then some of those going to the Christmas Do will be forced to admit that they were banned Mumsnetters who have just re-joined under a false name to gain information.....

Or maybe it'll all die down and everyone will forget who has been banned and why.

don't bother

it goes: yeah but no but fuck em yeah but innit

GrimmaTheNome · 09/11/2011 12:34

If I ever get that sad - shoot me.

Oh dear. I think your presence on this thread may qualify you. Unless you say something really funny or at least completely and utterly unrelated to Other Forums or the original topic of the thread.

Tortoiseonthehalfshell · 09/11/2011 12:37

Have we moved on from tortoises? I can discuss tortoises.

GrimmaTheNome · 09/11/2011 12:37

Or maybe it'll all die down and everyone will forget who has been banned and why.

I think it'll die down, but if anyone needs urgent need of advice on rehoming a dog, oh yes, then we'll remember Sad

seriously for a mo - if that does happen, is there someone qualified and willing to deal with all those - too many - 'Valhalla, over here' type threads?

Oh hang on, I am on the internet because I work on it, so this is just a look in, honest! I am really a man a loving and doting mother!

Bollocks, you've shot my cock off.

uniCorny · 09/11/2011 12:39

I went llama trekking once. It's a very boring way to spend an afternoon. Llamas aren't much fun.

Here is the official, all you need to know about dogs advice:

Shall I get a dog? No.
Why? Because they smell and cost lots to feed, not to mention kennelling fees for when you go away and vets fees.
Shall I re-home my dog? 'Sup to you. RSPCA re-home dogs, go there.
Shall I breed my dog? No, are you stupid?
Shall I buy from a breeder? Well someone has to, if it isn't you who buys it then some other muppet with too much money will.
My dog bit my child, what will I do? Either get rid of the child or get rid of the dog, it's up to you. Which costs less?
Shall I buy a rescue dog? If you want to, it would be a sort of nice thing to do if you can put up with the smells and the costs but not recommended if you have small kids.
Shall I buy a puppy? No, they piss everywhere.

Will that do? Just cut and paste for every dog question.

ChippingInNeedsSleep · 09/11/2011 12:44

Also. DBF posts (posted?) a lot. Posters that post a lot, especially about 'hot topics' are going to get more posts reported to MN that a poster that posts infrequently. For every one post reported to MNHQ I bet DBF made 100's that helped people. So yes, MNHQ may have had 20 reports about DBF, but I don't suppose anyone 'evened up the score' by reporting the thousands that were helpful, supportive, caring, gentle, calm, kind etc.

TheRhubarb · 09/11/2011 12:45

Chipping - you can call a lie a lie, but you cannot call a liar, a liar. Focus on the behaviour and not the person. Therein are the rules of Mumsnet in a nutshell.

Galaxy, we get it, you don't like her. But do you think now is the time or place for personal attacks?
