We're very excited that an early copy of the Mumsnet Rules has arrived at the Towers and looks marvellous we think. The Rules contains all the wit and wisdom we've garnered from Mumsnet Talk over the years and its goal is the goal of the Rules is make you into the person you would be if you had had two or three children to practise on before the ones you actually have. Here's the foreword.

So please, please tell everyone you know, pre-order many copies, and generally bore on about it to friends, relations and complete strangers.

ok- being thick- but how and where do I get the Kindle version?!

I was being thick, found it on Amazon. Duh.

then proceeded to feel not only thick but v guilty as well on reading the "don't work 80 hours a week rule". Oh well, now i have that on my kindle so i can refresh the guilt whenever the mood strikes.

I'm not getting one! It was listed on Amazon. [wonders if she's going mad and pondering whether to just have a quick check thus missing the first few minutes of Shadowline]

I've been reading the book (on my kindle) and really enjoying it.

RL: you have also been a SAHM, remember. Work is also mentioned as being a good thing in the book. And you are lovely. [flowery stalker emoticon].

RL, I feel really sad that the book has made you feel bad. That was so far from our intention. The message was supposed to be that it is hard on families if both parents have to work insane hours. But there are some crazy jobs and there is a daft long hours culture in this country. That's not your fault.

I am devastated that I'm not in it. I am in the Babies one though

I said something about baby acne according to the Babies one. In 6yrs, I've said something memorable about fricking spots.

I don't want the Rules, I won't be in it and I'll cry. I've wasted the best years of my life.

No you haven't, Showy - if it wasn't for you I would never have listened to Show Of Hands > nor discovered the fascination of WWII defences...

Now that's a legacy.

My copy arrived today (birthday gift) but it's all back to front and upside down! When I open the front cover, instead of seeing the opening pages I see an upside down version of the last pages (the index), it's like my cover was glued on wrong.

I'm having visions of Antiques Roadshow in 50yrs time and it being worth a fortune because it's an ultra rare upside down edition, only xxx amount were printed before Bloomsbury realised the error, etc etc and it's a collectors edition.

In reality it's worth nothing and is just messed up because someone at the printers wasn't paying attention.

The publishers have emailed and are more than happy to send you another copy, if you mail us ([email protected]) and we will arrange.
