We're very excited that an early copy of the Mumsnet Rules has arrived at the Towers and looks marvellous we think. The Rules contains all the wit and wisdom we've garnered from Mumsnet Talk over the years and its goal is the goal of the Rules is make you into the person you would be if you had had two or three children to practise on before the ones you actually have. Here's the foreword.

So please, please tell everyone you know, pre-order many copies, and generally bore on about it to friends, relations and complete strangers.

ps You can get a sneak preview in the Sunday Times today and again next Sunday and more about.

I can't find it in the Kindle store. Should I be able to?

DaphneHeartsFred · 06/06/2011 18:01

Still not available in Kindle format????

Itsjustafleshwound · 06/06/2011 18:19

Did anyone read the review a certain Ms Daisy Goodwin did on the book in the ST yesterday!! She just couldn't resist calling MNetters a bunch of middle class schoolground bullies .....

KatieMumsnet · 07/06/2011 16:33

Hi everyone

I'm sorry, it's been delayed - they're obviously having trouble typing up all the emoticons, however I have been promised that it will be on available for the kindle tomorrow.

Thanks for your patience Brew

TigerFeet · 09/06/2011 11:52

got it, thanks :)

Hullygully · 09/06/2011 11:55

I'm in it. Paggy told me.

I apparently advocate killing. Who knew?

RustyBear · 09/06/2011 16:43

Yes, hully, bibbity says (about other people's children & their friendships with yours)

"..the best way... is to be brave and cheerful and find other friends and above all not become a victim"

and you add "And then kill the other children when nobody's looking"

My copy arrived today (birthday gift) but it's all back to front and upside down! When I open the front cover, instead of seeing the opening pages I see an upside down version of the last pages (the index), it's like my cover was glued on wrong.

I'm having visions of Antiques Roadshow in 50yrs time and it being worth a fortune because it's an ultra rare upside down edition, only xxx amount were printed before Bloomsbury realised the error, etc etc and it's a collectors edition.

In reality it's worth nothing and is just messed up because someone at the printers wasn't paying attention.

RebeccaMumsnet · 14/06/2011 14:18

For those of you who haven't bought a copy yet, why not! there is a chance for you to win one here but be quick, the competition ends on Friday.

For those that have already got one (Gold Star and Wine for you) please do review it here

Many thanks
MNHQ

I was going to enter but don't have twitter Hmm.

nickelbabe · 14/06/2011 14:34

i do have twitter, but I haven't got a bloody clue how it works.

what does this mean?
"For your chance to win simply follow and tweet to @mumsnettowers using the #TheMumsnetRules. "
Confused

Rulescoauthor · 14/06/2011 16:09

Would anyone who has read it and not wanted to put it in the loo mind reviewing it on amazon? Feel free to utilise excellent Daisy Goodwin quote about it being a "guide to the normative values of the hummus-eating classes". Or something like that...

nickelbabe · 14/06/2011 16:13

someone could review it for my site, too.
(other bookshops are available)
(but they're not as good as mine.... Wink )

Hassled · 14/06/2011 16:47

I'll review it just as soon as I've bought it, which will be any day now. Only 2 reviews on Amazon to date - but both glowing. I especially like Margaret Cain.

Am I in it? Am I?

Rulescoauthor · 14/06/2011 17:03

Hassled, I will go and look for you later. I think you are...

Pagwatch · 14/06/2011 17:07

Yep, you are hassled.

I think a few times.

Hassled · 14/06/2011 17:33

Yessy yes yes! Have ordered. I wonder what particular pearls of wisdom were picked? I bet it was my patented "Getting a poo out of a toilet" technique.

amothersplaceisinthewrong · 14/06/2011 21:48

Wouldn't go near a book on kids with the word "Rules" in it, even if it is lighthearted in tone. So I will pass on this one.

jimswifein1964 · 14/06/2011 22:16

Here for seven bloody years, yet have said nothing of value, under any mn name

Pagwatch · 15/06/2011 07:54

I am a bit Confused that people are so uptight about the title.
It is faintly ironic.
"chat, advice and shit that might help a bit but ultimately you are usually the best judge" is probably more accurate.
But perhaps if you can't find the idea of a big biblesque book containing dead pet haiku funny then it is not the book for you anyway
