UPDATED Essential maintenance

We're going to be doing some essential maintenance on Sunday morning. The site may well be offline for a short time, starting around 10am, but we'll keep it to a minimum. If for any reason "a short time" starts turning in to a longer one, you'll be able to get updates by looking at Mumsnet on twitter, which you can find at:

twitter.com/mumsnettowers

For the technically minded (and this would only impact them, so don't worry - if you're not sure if this is relevant to you, it isn't!) we're going to be changing the IP address of www.mumsnet.com. We will of course be updating our name servers to point at the new address, but if you do anything funky with the IP address you'll have to update after we've made the change.

We think it's just GentleOtter for some reason. Am helping her investigate.

Meanwhile, we're all done with this work. We've not quite finished it, but we can do the remainder in the middle of the night so you won't notice.

Thanks all.

it's working fine for me now

"but we can do the remainder in the middle of the night so you won't notice."

you mean like last night when the server shut down for a back up at 1am instead of 3.15am and wasn't working properly until 2???

I have No-Script and 'Skimlinks.com have been blocked.

GentleOtter · 06/02/2011 16:14

Firefox upgrade has sorted the problem. Many thanks Tech. Smile

Problem totally not sorted. Lots more of the attack sites coming up again.

YetMoreTech · 11/02/2011 10:52

GO, we're pretty confident the problem is not on the Mumsnet server's side.

How about trying a different browser? Google Chrome is a good choice.

Perhaps post in Geek Stuff and some of the wonderful technically minded people on Mumsnet will help you get it sorted.

Ok, google chrome seems to have fixed it. Thanks.
