UPDATED Essential maintenance

We're going to be doing some essential maintenance on Sunday morning. The site may well be offline for a short time, starting around 10am, but we'll keep it to a minimum. If for any reason "a short time" starts turning in to a longer one, you'll be able to get updates by looking at Mumsnet on twitter, which you can find at:

For the technically minded (and this would only impact them, so don't worry - if you're not sure if this is relevant to you, it isn't!) we're going to be changing the IP address of www.mumsnet.com. We will of course be updating our name servers to point at the new address, but if you do anything funky with the IP address you'll have to update after we've made the change.

Actually there's no point doing code releases at 3am and I discovered to my peril years ago - if it all goes titsup.com you can't call anyone to help because they are all sodding well asleep.

I'm generally not asleep at 3am! I vote for 6.30am when I am.

Well this is no use. My dh is off for a week on sunday morning and I had my day all planned.

5am take dh to airport. 5:30 home, back to bed. 7am MN in bed while feral children scavage for food.

Can't you just put the link on the "sorry were down for essential maintenance page" as well that we usually get - then those that haven't book marked the link can still see it.

I would be happy with a non-moving eye roll, if the no moving things is going to stand firm. I would HATE to end up with all the tickers and shite and can see how it could become a slippery slope - but I do love the old emoticons!
