Right I will start. The idea is name and shame and maybe these huge organisations will realise to stop using ridiculous automated telephone services and to stop ripping us off!!!!

Currys - very low level of customer service after our HP printer stopped working as it was 2 months past the warrantee date.
Handy that.
AAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

That's better, especially now when I phone to complain and tell them I've written all about it on here.

Wouldn't it be lovely if every business was like John Lewis - the world would be full of harmony and happy customers.

WilfShelf · 01/10/2010 23:46

Not just Royal Mail. If you live where I do (hard to find address) ANY private courier needs blowing up with a big bomb.

Chinghehuang · 02/10/2010 23:18

Jeld-Wen for not so great windows and doors.

Currys, appalling service, paid over £500 for 42 " TV was told by the sales staff that the price included setting up and installing the TV on day of delivery. TV was delivered on wrong day, delivery man very unhelpful said he could not install TV, no communication from Currys, took TV back and got a refund, basically the sales staff are liars.

HerBeatitude · 02/10/2010 23:20

Anything to do with the Dixons/ Curry group.

About 25 years ago they wouldn't take a £20 faulty kettle back without an argument.

So taht's thousands of pounds I and my siblings haven't spent there.

Chinghehuang · 02/10/2010 23:26

How could I forget PONTINS in PRESTATYN worst shithole I have ever stayed in. This place is the pits and should be bulldozed. How Pontins get away with advertising these dumps is beyond me, they are a health hazard, filthy and disgusting.

Another one against Currys. I haven't shopped there for 8 years since they were rude to me and it took ages to replace my washing machine.

BeenBeta · 03/10/2010 18:16

Companies that are fantastic.

First Direct - best banking experience ever.

Majestic Wine - absoluley fabulous in every way possible on home wine delivery.

Lakeland - I didnt know shops like this still existed.

John Lewis - fantastic and dependable but for goodness sake get all the stock that is in your physical shops on your online website and I will double my purchases from you.

Sainsbury - very good grocery delivery and very few substitutes, never late and friendly staff.

ohn Bell & Croydon - a single shop chemists in London. Its a pleasure being ill in there. Its what Boots should be like.

BeenBeta · 03/10/2010 18:17

John Bell & Croydon

IMoveTheStars · 03/10/2010 18:17

Forgot to add ALL electrical retailers. Having worked in one as a teenager, and having had pretty crappy service from all of them, I will be buying all my electrical goods from John Lewis in future (they're customer service and returns policy really is as good as everybody says it is - they can't do enough for you!)

massivemammaries · 03/10/2010 18:30

Barclays Bank - evil robbing bastards
Tescos - total fuckwits
Corner shop near Hyde Park - woman never off phone, never says please ot thankyou
Virgin Media - twats

Tootlesmummy · 03/10/2010 18:41

Intelligent Finance - Lost £10k of my money and took months to find it!
Mothercare - items are priced as one thing and then ring up as more when you go to pay
MFI - who left me 36 weeks pregnant with no bathroom over christmas
Toys R Us - just crap

the best

John Lewis - Always great
Amazon - replaced an order when idiot delivery driver put it in my wheelie bin which was emptied that day!

Halfords
Airtours
Talk Talk

PfftTheMagicDragon · 03/10/2010 19:16

British Gas.

Sent me a debt collection letter for £1.02. As well as being useless morons with no customer service skills and ridiculously expensive. Every month they send letters to me asking me to switch back to them and every month I delight in writing little notes on the envelopes and posting them back.Grin

The3Bears · 03/10/2010 19:17

Debenhams, terrible customer service for the online help anyway.

Comet, My washing machine door smashed half way through a wash when it was six weeks old with my bugaboo covers in it, they were a mess all ripped etc I had to go in and argue with them for about 2 hours till they sent me a new one I will never shop at that store again. Angry

Sky, there pants really, realy rubbish customer service.

The3Bears · 03/10/2010 19:34

Forgot the good:

Boden forgot to send my winter preview order ontime so rang me applogised and took £7.00 off the order :) Just hate that everything is always out of stock on there :(

John lewis: great customer service I love the fact you can order stuff from stores if not in stock online and staff are always helpful and polite :)

Argos: I had a piece of furniture from them the finish had started coming of the top of it they sent me a new one twice and were always fast to deliver and helpful :)

DollyBantry · 03/10/2010 19:54

Kitchens Direct - avoid like the plague, never give them your details, they will keep calling you for ever and ever and ever (and they sent a murderer to give us a quote so we then had the police round ...)

Ryanair - yes, I know - my own fault for grabbing a 'cheap' flight ... ugh, complete bastards.

British Gas - also complete bastards who don't know their arse from their elbow.

WhitePeacock · 03/10/2010 20:37

Swimming against the tide here to say that John Lewis are on my shitlist (gasp)! To date they have cocked up our wedding list, delivery of two fridges (multiple times apiece) and furniture for baby's room. I can never be sure that their customer service will call back or take responsibility for any issues with online ordering and it now feels like masochism to shop with them any more. So irate emails have been sent and the honeymoon is well and truly over. It saddens me, for the website is so full of tastefulness sniff, but DH has reminded me of manifold crapnesses that not even enticing pictures of THICK, COSY towels can efface.

On the other hand, I love Waitrose and Ocado with a slightly alarming passion. Also The Clean Green Nappy Company can drop in for coffee ANY time.

BrianAndHisBalls · 03/10/2010 20:55

BT - Sent me a bill for £280 for broadband. I'd terminated my account with them 2 years before and moved it to Sky. I phoned and told them this repeatedly. Got the usual going through the story 15 times with 100s of new people, getting cut off, getting told it would be dealt with etc, all going on for months.

Turned out their computer system had renewed my broadband account (without me asking them to and without them notifying me Hmm) and they billed me a year later, double Hmm

Took about 3 months to sort out and the whole time I was scared that they'd take the money from my account. Oh and they kept sending me red letters saying they were going to take me to a debt collector Shock

Ebay - customer service utterly shit. I can't even explain its just so shit.

nymphadora · 03/10/2010 21:19

british Gas - Kept sending dh huge bills and refusing to accept his meter readings as they were too low . Well duh no one lived in the house and it had nothing working with gas and only lights to use electric. He kept paying chunks to keep them happy and evetually I made him kick up a fuss and they refuded £400+

Npower Hijacked me three times

BT refusing to come and connect our phone as they thought it worked. When they finally came out there was no connection to the house...

currys tried to buy a laptop one September (special offers on as there were loads of students looking) Couildn't get served because of all the students as the 3X 20 year old assistants were drooling too much.
