Need bed and mattress, good quality, in white.

Dont want to spend more than £150.00 on both. Cheap I know!

And I need it quite quickly.

Suggestions?
Thanks!

sazzles oh congratulations, how exciting! Yes, small room, but big enough for DD if the furniture is not too big.

msappropriate. We will have to see how it pans out over the next couple of days I guess, and get the bed in the meantime in case we need it.

I am not entirely looking forward to her being in a bed. I have visions of her taking herself to the toilet, stuffing reams of paper down it and blocking it after flushing at 5am. Or falling in!

We have a high stairgate which we will have to put on her door I guess (if she can climb out of cot, she can climb stairgate) and I hope it is big enough to contain her!

It is all going tooo fast! She has just started potty training herself, and is almost there. She is too young to be wearing big girl pants and sleeping in a bed. She is only 2 and 2 weeks old1

Pav! I'm literally around the corner from Bristol IKEA and have a mothercare toddler bed in pine. If you want to pop over and see it before you go to IKEA -let me know. There is also a big mothercare near by too so...

pgwithnumber3 · 23/07/2008 22:16

Anyway after all that, you best buy it!

PortAndLemon · 23/07/2008 22:16

We have the IKEA extendible Minnen bed (as discussed above) in white (got it in white just four months ago so I'd be surprised if it weren't still available in white), with the Sultan Sussa mattress. It's great, frankly -- we didn't have room for a full-sized bed at the moment but this will eventually expand to a regular single bed. My mother has the same bed in her spare room for the use of various visiting grandchildren so we had the chance to try before we bought.

PavlovtheCat · 23/07/2008 22:17

oooooooh pg I lurve that! And it is reduced! No side bars, but to be honest, she does not sleep straight in the bed anyway!!

That is the one. Elegent, not overdone, a good size, not too big. Does not look like I made it myself, AND its reduced.

Perfect!

We have this, and it's lovely. Just over £150 with mattress...

pgwithnumber3 · 23/07/2008 22:18

Who needs sidebars, won't harm her to sleep on the floor!

Ps There is also a mamas and papas next to the mothercare, just opposite IKEA...

PavlovtheCat · 23/07/2008 22:20

Ah, no bed guard, how important is a bed guard? Can't you buy them seperately?

OP posts:
pgwithnumber3 · 23/07/2008 22:21

You can buy white wooden bedguards somewhere.

I love our mothercare toddler bed, my son's been in it a year now, it will last him another year or so then get passed on to our youngest.

msappropriate · 23/07/2008 22:22

yes, there are big ones made by tomy and ones that collapse for travelling made by babydan. My son fell out twice with one though but stayed asleep!

frisbyrat · 23/07/2008 22:22

Ahem

pgwithnumber3 · 23/07/2008 22:22

pgwithnumber3 · 23/07/2008 22:23

frisby - piss off, she LIKES MINE!

frisbyrat · 23/07/2008 22:24

Ikea do one.

Check whether the bed is slatted because some toddler bed guards only fit divan beds, others only fit slatted and some (BabyDan) do both!
